We made it downstairs for Kaylee's meds and she got to see Mom and Dad this morning. Mom had a procedure today in Winston Salem, so Dad stayed home to take her to that. They found a cancerous place on her cheek and scheduled the Mohs surgery on it. This is where they remove layers of skin and examine each layer and run biopsies. If they find more cancer, they go back again. However many times it takes to get it all removed. Luckily, they only had to do one procedure and got it all. She was relieved.

Kaylee ate breakfast and then got in the shower. When she was done, I took a shower and then we went to Stuart. I had a meeting at 1:00 and had some work to get done before that meeting. At 12:30, I took Kaylee to EZ Stop to get taco salad for lunch. She ate in her office and I met in the conference room. When we were done, Kaylee and I drove downtown and looked at another potential office space. I really hate that the building I am in doesn't have the room for me to expand. I really love this building.

I grabbed a hot dog after looking at the building and we went back to the office. Kaylee got ready for her nap and laid down before 3:30. She slept right at an hour and texted Tabatha and me. Tabatha had to work late today getting ready for graduation tomorrow, so Kaylee hung out with me for a while. I had a tourism meeting at 6:00, so I drove to the high school so Kaylee could be with Tabatha while I went to the meeting.

They were able to leave around 6:30 and head to the house. Thomas came over to spend the evening with Kaylee. Everybody had leftovers for dinner and ate out on the deck. When I got home, I warmed up the tortellini from last night and ate on the deck too, even though they were all finished.

Thomas hung out with Kaylee while she tried to pack for tomorrow night. There's no telling how many outfits she tried on. I think she has settled on two, but it all depends on the weather as to which one she will wear. Tabatha started packing also because we will need to be on the road before Kaylee's nap, so she can sleep on the way. After Thomas left, Tabatha and Kaylee finished their packing and got ready for bed.

The Ronald McDonald House dinner is Friday night to celebrate their 40th year in Roanoke. It's a big fundraiser and they have asked us to talk about Kaylee's journey. And by "us" I mean "me." I sat down tonight to write about her accident, her flight, her surgeries, recovery, rehab, more surgeries, and more rehab, our stay at the Ronald McDonald House (twice), how great she is doing now, and how she graduated from community college. I also thanked the staff there and everyone who has donated their money or time. When I was finished, I had typed four full pages, single spaced in Microsoft Word. I figure that would take me 12-15 minutes to read. Her story is so big, but I'll try to work on editing it down tomorrow.
