Five years ago, this month, my son was running and was struck from behind by a young driver in an SUV. He was rushed by helicopter to the hospital where he stayed for three and a half months. He was paralyzed from his shoulders down. I want to recognize his wife, Dorothy, who was in the hospital with him every day, encouraging him and learning how to care for him. Because it is difficult to find caregivers who are trained to take care of a quadriplegic, Dorothy has often had to be on 2 4/7 care for him. She has her own health issues but she has been there for him all the way. She has been an angel. I know there have been rough times, but every photo I see of them they are always smiling. Also, their e-mails have always been upbeat. I am so thankful for the care that she has given and the team that the two of them make. Thank you, Dorothy, for being the angel that you are. The love and care that you have given is wonderful and amazing to me. Lots of love and admiration from me to you.
