Sign In to Show Your SupportGood evening everyone,
Yesterday Tim had his central line placed in his chestfor his conditioning chemo and his transplant. This surgical procedure went very well even though it made him very anxious, but like everything else, he came through it like a champ!
Today was day 1 of the very intense conditioning chemo. This is what will kill all the good and bad cells in his bone marrow in order to prepare for the transplant. There is alot involved with this chemo and of course very bad side effects. They are giving him multiple meds to keep the side effects at bay and so far so good! Typically, the hard side effects really hit day 3-4 after transplant when all the blood counts are at the lowest. He’s already come so far since January 22, that this just feels like another hurdle to jump on the way to complete remission!! Day 1 down and 3 more to go!!
Appreciate all the prayers, positive vibes and well wishes. We feel them and our family is truly grateful, thankful and blessed!
