Hello everybody,

We have official confirmation that Tim’s transplant will happen May 21st. Yup…… that’s 20 days from now!!!! We are now in pre transplant mode so he has an extremely busy schedule until then. Labs, tests, classes, procedures, chemo, dentist, you name it….he’s probably having it done! They check every body system so that he has the best possible outcome from the transplant and very minimal infection and healthrisks. 

He will be extremely immune compromised post transplant so germs and infections could be deadly for him. The week prior to his transplant, he will be hospitalized for very different and intensive chemotherapy treatment. This will get his body ready and kill all the bad AND good cells……so he can’t fight infection. Once the new cells get transplanted into his bloodstream  they will eventually travel to his bone marrow and start to develop new “normal “ cells that will take over. Then we pray that we never have to hear the word leukemia again!!

We still don’t have any information on the donor and not sure we will get any information. It’s kept pretty confidential!
