Sign In to Show Your SupportI heard a song on the radio today that sums up how I’m feeling- the theme of it was that while trying to count your blessings, it was impossible because the blessings from God are infinite. Celebrating Mother’s Day with my family, feeling good, enjoying the beautiful weather are all reminders of the many blessings poured out on me.
I started physical therapy last week. I’ve been given some arm exercises with weights, leg exercises with resistance bands and some things to strengthen my grip. The therapist has also set a goal for me to walk at least 30 minutes a day- doesn’t have to be all at once. So, I’m trying to walk in the morning by myself and then Dave and I go a bit farther after dinner. I’ve told him if I hit a wall, I’ll sit on the curb and he can go get the car! Thanks goodness we haven’t had to implement that plan. It can be a bit depressing to have my legs feel like jelly after what seems like just a few exercises. However, I have to remember that for a few months I was able to do little to nothing. It feels good to have a goal and to know I’m doing what I can to gain back strength. I will continue to get therapy 1-2 times a week through mid June then evaluate. No other appointments this week, but blood work, see my oncologist and chemo on 5/23.
Hope you are feeling blessed and enjoying our Spring weather.
Sandy
