It’s amazing how great news can help a person have a great night’s sleep!
We met with my oncologist before chemo yesterday and got my PET scan results. Her words were, “the scan is good!”.  The final statement on the report from the radiologist reads, “No metabolic evidence of active neoplasm.”  This means  the cancer is still present in my body, but “sleeping well”. (my words).  I will have another PET in 3 months.  We also learned that I am on the highest dose of this particular chemo, and that most people can’t tolerate this dosage.  This was a reminder of God’s care and graciousness to me as well as all the prayer warriors who are faithfully praying for me- so thank you, thank you, thank you! My doctor said we can lower the dosage at any time if I am feeling extremely tired or that it is impeding my daily life.  While I am not at full energy, I know some of this is caused by the chemo, and some just because my body is fighting the cancer.  Our feeling is it that the treatment is working, I’m not suffering from huge side effects and I’m able to “do life”.  I’ll be honest, it’s taking continuous prayer, will power and work to get used to my new normal.  But this week I’ve been able to meet friends for coffee, take my mom to get new glasses, pick our grandsons up from daycare and watch them play, and shop a little.  Pacing myself and listening to my body are a must.  So, Dave and I feel why mess with a dosage that is clearly working and yet allowing me to enjoy life.
Another good word was that she feels things have been stable so I no longer need to do weekly lab work. but just have blood drawn on chemo days before I see her or the PA.  So we are down to every 3 weeks for everything!

I will be starting physical therapy on Monday in hopes of rebuilding  my strength and stamina.  They will also work on balance simply because bone loss is a hidden side effect of the chemo.  Don’t know yet how often or how long but hoping to feel stronger and I’m sure I’ll have some exercises to do at home.  I also want to start doing more walking outside when weather permits.

”The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him.”  Lamentations 3:25   He’s been so very good to me!

Thanks for your continued prayers, thoughts and encouraging words. The journey isn’t over but I am blessed to have you all in my corner-

Sandy
