Journal
Dear friends and family,
Things are still evolving - my head is spinning!
Libbie and I had a good trip together to MD Anderson last week. Turns out the scans didn't show anything! The Dr wants to do genomic testing to find the target that is driving resistance to treatment, but I think he couldn't find anything. So it seems a mystery why I had that effusion. But, since I had symptoms of progression (pleural effusion), we need to treat it as such, and move on to the next treatment.
While waiting for insurance clearance and scheduling for monoclonal antibodies to be started (I'll receive them in Houston at MD Anderson), I found out yesterday that I need to get in a last round of chemo in Chicago, since I'll be going so long without any treatment (my regularly-scheduled chemo was to have been last week). So I quick got a flight for today, returning Friday, and will stay in a hotel since the whole thing was so last-minute.
In the meantime, my PCP is experimenting with raising my thyroid med to see if that helps with my fatigue. I still get out of breath a bit when I stand up and do things, which seems to be hanging on too long.
Thank you for your prayers!
