Journal entry by Margaret Bean —
Dear friends and family,
Quick evening update:
Friday, I found out that my scans show no new cancer growth, so I can continue on maintenance chemo!
I was concerned this time, due to my coughing and increased pleural pain. But, though the cancer is still there, it's not growing - it's stable!
Interestingly, the Dr said my sinus congestion showed up on my brain MRI! Even though the infection is gone, the congestion is still there (and in my chest). Please pray that clear up. Some of my cough is from lung scarring, but it would be nice if the rest of it clear up (and the scarring cough calm down).
So, I'm off to Chicago tomorrow for another every-3-weeks round of chemo. I tend to be fine for 2 days after chemo, then am pretty tired with a low fever for a few days, then just fatigued for a few more.
I feel so fortunate - for the health and time I'm given, feeling the Lord with me, and the love of my family and friends.
I'd like to close with the prayer my church had for this Palm Sunday:
Almighty and ever-living God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
