Today went a little better than yesterday…. Not much, but a little which is better than nothing! Scot arrived at noon again to join Lisa for lunch. She did better this morning so they will continue with this system and see how she does. Lisa gets really upset when Scot arrive and wants him to get her out of there.
She will have 8 speech therapies a week here. They call it cognitive therapy. They had Lisa see if she could identify feelings with a picture board which they sent back to her residence for assistance to communicate with her. Her speech therapist, Samantha, actually graduated from Seattle university and lived on Queen Anne for a while and visited Spokane a few times with friends from SU, and even went to green bluff for peaches while there. Such a small world! Physical therapy went well once Lisa stopped crying. They went to the pool at her residence this evening. Scot said it was super relaxing and Lisa really enjoyed herself. She was super unhappy though, when Scot left. She’s just not understanding where she is or why. Hopefully she’ll start to get more comfortable in the coming weeks.
I’m so curious, too, that when Lisa talks about going home, if she actually KNOWS what home is and remembers it, or if she just knows the idea of “home.” I’m sure she’ll feel really good when she does finally get home with people she knows and hopefully starts to remember her house.
I hope each day continues to improve for her. I know she’s so scared and confused and it’s so hard to hear about. But we know this is the best place for her to be successful when she does finally get home.
Say some prayers that she has a good weekend! ❤️❤️
