Treatment #6 is proving to be a doozy. When he had the reaction during the treatment on Tuesday, they put a valve in that was a precautionary measure for something. Apparently the valve made the pump not pump the way it’s supposed to. Justin noticed Wednesday night that the pump ball wasn’t going down the way it should. Sure enough, when he went in on Thursday they confirmed it wasn’t actually working. They thought it was because of the valve, so they removed that and sent him home with the pump (again) for 46 more hours of fun.

As of Friday morning, there was still no movement with the pump volume so he suspected it still wasn’t moving the medicine. Back to the chemo center we went on Friday where it was confirmed it wasn’t working. Nobody is sure why. He’s just over this one. He asked the chemo nurses if he could skip the pump part and just consider #6 a half-ass treatment and pick up full-steam with #7. The nurses checked with Dr. Freeman but his strong recommendation was to continue with the pump. Justin was disappointed, but agreed. So now they’re completely redoing the hookup in hopes it will work like it should, and he'll wear the pump until Sunday. Please keep your 🤞🏼 for him. He’s tired of this round.
