I have some good news!  I heard from Houston Methodist today - finally!  The insurance has approved me coming there to be evaluated for the liver transplant.  I have 14 appointments in TWO days - June 3 and 4.  I have no idea how long it takes to hear if I 'passed' or not - but so glad to have this appointment and get moving forward!  The other good news is that the RH factor in your blood type doesn't matter -so if anyone between the ages of 18-60 with type O blood can be a live liver donor for me.  Since O positive is the most common blood type, that opens up a lot more people who might can help!  I was reading all about it in the literature they sent and it said the donor liver and my liver will be back to 'full size' in three weeks!  That just seems amazing to me.  If we can find a living donor, then I don't have to go on a long waiting list and be withing hours of the hospital at all times.  We can just schedule it and it'll be so much easier - so once I know more about how to get that ball rolling, I'll post about it.

Next week I go to MDAnderson to get my stents replaced... I know it is time as I'm starting to have those occasional night fevers... so anxious to get those new pipes in so the bile can get out easily and I hope I'll have more energy than I do now.  I usually come away from that procedure feeling really good - so that'll be next Friday and i am ready.  Then I'll go back June 2 and be doing all the appointments with the transplant team.

Memorial Day marks one year since this nightmare began.  I am so hopeful that by the end of this summer, I'll have a new liver and be back to my old self!  If so - watch out world, I am going to be blowing and going.  The one thing I have taken away from this is to not put off things - you just never know when something like this will pop up in your life.  And there are so many of you who have been so loving and kind.... I want to see each of you and hug your necks!

I had a great mother's day thanks to my wonderful girls... thought I'd post a picture or two here.
