So there is light at the end of the tunnel friends! Next Friday, Hewitt will be finished with Proton Radiation at Emory! We can’t wait for him to ring that bell and celebrate! Whew it’s been a tough few weeks with chemo resuming last week and a hospitalization. Proton radiation has made him extremely nauseous but this week is a little better. They are targeting a different area ( not as close to his abdomen) so he isn’t as sick.🙌 He’s even eaten a few cheeseburgers and milkshakes. He is maintaining his weight and trying to get outside more and walk with me. His platelet counts are good and hemoglobin is 11.5.
Yesterday we ended up having an ultrasound at CHOA because he found a new spot and the oncologist was concerned about metastasis. Radiology confirmed it’s not a cancer mass this morning. Thank you for your prayers. Our emotions are all over the place these days. So we are counting down until next Friday when he will finish and we will head home to resume chemo at Bon Secours in Greenville.
What a journey! We are so grateful for all of you supporting us during this time. We are humbled and know God is with us every step of the way. Our faith sustains us and we are so blessed to have so many friends and family. Love all of you.
