Journal entry by Heather Dickerson

Hewitt has had a rough couple of weeks at Emory. He has been in a good bit of pain where the radiation is focused on his abdominal area lately and is experiencing burning on his skin. He has been extremely nauseous and usually vomits right after his 2 hour radiation treatment and sometimes during. We saw the radiation oncologist yesterday and they are tweaking his nausea meds so he can eat. He’s tired and doesn’t have much energy. We could use all your prayers right now.
So today is a new day and he has kept food down and rested a lot. We are currently sitting outside because it’s such a beautiful day.☀️Proton therapy was postponed due to a power outage last night. Maybe God knew Hewitt needed a little break to heal. Thank you for all your texts, calls, and prayers. We appreciate all of you.❤️
