We arrived home from our AMAZING stay at Beaches Turks and Caicos to roll right into going to Milwaukee for Kevin to meet with the oncologist at Froedtert and have another colonoscopy. The doctor was very informative and let us know that he was going to have the pathologist review his results, meet with their tumor board and update us this week with what our next steps would be.

Hadley finished her LAST VAC cycle, which means her last planned overnight admission to Children's. She did pretty well, but did have another reaction which Dr Ryan told us was called Radiation reaction. But hopefully we will not have to worry about that anymore. June 5th we will head back to Milwaukee for another PET scan, MRI, and CT to see what has happened in the last 3 months, and this will then determine if we do another biopsy. The 6th she will start her next leg of her journey.  She will be on a daily oral chemo, and then weekly IV for 3 weeks out of the month. This will be for 6 months. It seems a bit busier than her VAC cycle, and could potentially drop her counts more than VAC. We asked if we could push it back to start after our Destin trip since we don't know how she will feel, but they would like us to start right away. So thats what we will do!

Fast forward a bit, we talked with Kev's doctor yesterday and the pathologist reviewed all biopsies and samples they took, and they have determined more cancer was found, and he will need to have surgery to have part of his colon removed.  The doctor said this would most likely be a 3-4 day hospital stay, and a 4-6 week recovery time. Again with our Destin trip coming up, we are going to see if we can do it right after we get back but if the doctor thinks we need to do it sooner, we will do what we have to do.

Being a mom to an 11 year old AMAZING human with this shitty diagnosis and a wife to someone who holds this family together diagnosed with his SECOND cancer now really takes a toll on ones mental and physical health. They are two of the strongest people I know, so please give me the strength to get them through this. This is going to be our life now.

I know this page is dedicated to Hadley and will always continue to update on her, but we are all in this together.
