Welcome to Everett’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportEverett finally passed his ANC counts today after being chemo free for almost 5 weeks. Never thought we’d be so happy to get good counts back today to resume chemo treatment, but we depend on it now to help him move forward and remain cancer free! Everett’s a fighter and continues to show his medical team that he does things on his own agenda when he’s ready. Even if that means his doctor threatening a bone marrow test to get his counts to cooperate. He certainly gives mom and dads emotions a run for their money at times, but we’ll take that if it means he remains cancer free and fighting this fight!
Monday starts the last part of his treatment in the delayed intensification phase. He’ll get chemo through June 10th and then will be in maintenance. Similar to last month they’ll tank him with intense chemo one last time to ensure nothing hiding (if anything) comes back. Once we hit maintenance he’ll take pills daily and get monthly infusions vs the 1-3 times weekly that we’ve been doing for the last 10 months.
The light is getting brighter and we’re so excited to be able to start a newer normal where Everett can be a kid once again!! No one should ever have to endure this, let alone an innocent child! But we’re holding on to hope and Aunt Kathie visiting Angela in her dreams one month prior to his diagnosis letting her know that “everything was going to be okay!” Not knowing at the time what that meant, she holds onto that message dearly, especially when things are uncertain.
Thank you all for your continued prayers for our boy!!! He’s GOT this!!
