Friends, Family, Colleagues, Members of the Global Dave Mao Community… I am super excited to announce the launch of www.DaveMao.com, the virtual event space for Dave’s Celebration of Life! We’ve been working so hard on it, and I’m thrilled to finally be able to share it with you all. At the virtual celebration, you can RSVP for the upcoming Epic Dave Mao Dance Party; share your favorite Dave Mao stories, photos, and videos; help create the ultimate Dave Mao Party Playlist, and more!

We’ve got a lot more fun in store for this site, including a gallery of your shared photos and videos, and the Official Dave Mao Trivia Game (coming soon!). If you’re unable to attend the July Dance Party/Celebration of Life in person, we will also be livestreaming the program and sharing video highlights of the event on this site, and there will be additional ways for you to participate in the event virtually as well. So please don’t think of this as a one-and-done visit! The celebration starts now, and continues through July 27 (and beyond!)

Last summer, when Dave and I discussed memorial services (still hoping that we would have more time), Dave’s only request was that there be a virtual component to his memorial service, so that his many friends and family all over the world would be able to participate. I said “But…YOU’RE the one who knows how to create a virtual event!” Ten months later, and I am thankful beyond words to Dave Young and Ross Reyman for making my wild ideas and Dave’s one request a reality. (Seriously, could never have pulled this off without them.)

So… we’ve done it! The virtual celebration is officially underway! But ultimately, its success is up to you, the global Dave Mao community… You’re the ones who will breathe life and laughter into this space and make it fun and memorable and a true tribute to Dave. And when the dance party has come and gone, this site will continue to serve as an archive of memories and stories for Lucy and Leo, which…was another one of Dave’s wishes. ❤️
