Journal
Today it's worth saying the same thing on the video and the blog because I want to make sure everyone hears and sees it. Jeanne is finishing up her school year at Betty Adams Elementary, where she has been the librarian for ten years. That's ten years that have been largely full of my cancer after cancer after cancer. The staff and administration at Betty Adams have been absolutely the best and have been there for Jeanne through the toughest possible times. Thank you to all of you amazing people! I will always be grateful that she had such a loving and supportive work family to spend all those hours with everyday. She was always so strong and positive when she came to see me in the hospital every afternoon and the strength you provided her was a big reason for that.
Jeanne will be moving on to a new school and new adventures next year but I will never forget how incredible you all were to her and to me. You remind me how important it is to be a great friend and co-worker. We spend so much time together every week and we have the power to make or break peoples' days with everything we do and don't do. I hope I am half as empathetic and caring with everyone I work with as you have been with Jeanne. You will always be a part of our family.
Let's be thoughtful about how we interact with everyone around us today. The next thing we do might mean the world to someone. Happy Friday!
Love, Dave
