This has certainly been a weekend of extremes. Play hard, sleep hard, and very little in between. A couple wrap up Vegas notes…

If I wasn’t clear yesterday or in my personal correspondence with you, the Sphere is amazing. It lives up to the hype and is worth the effort and expense to get there. It is a mind blowing experience in person.

Unless you waiting until winter to go, take your cab to the Venetian and enter the Sphere through the air conditioned walking bridge. The only strategic mistake we made the entire trip was getting dropped off at the venue and wandering around in the 107° heat for about 30 minutes waiting for security to open the doors. Lesson learned. Also, once the doors were open, we actually walked inside over to the Venetian to cool off and get a drink. We walked back to the Sphere much closer to showtime and still got in really quickly. Leaving was a crowded mess but my state of mind at the time might have contributed to that.

With the exception of the Frontier Airlines employee who was in charge of carry on bag sizes at gate E8 yesterday morning, I love the service mentality of everyone in Las Vegas. Asking kindly and tipping appropriately gets you anything you want there.

All in all, a great weekend. I was awake for around 26 consecutive hours and then slept around 16 hours out of the next 22. If I had important things to do today, I’m in good enough shape to do them but I’m also glad I don’t.

Finally, happy Father’s Day to all. I’m lucky with the dad I have and I’m also proud to have so many friends who have become great fathers themselves. To everyone who is missing someone a little extra today, I hope you have enough good memories to make you smile. It’s a day to celebrate what we had, what we still have, and the hope for what is to come. Happy Sunday!

Love, Dave
