I guess I’m destined to wake up at 7am every Saturday morning. Being in the eastern time zone means nothing to my internal alarm. I got to walk on the beach, film my video with the ocean in the background, and get this day off and running. It will be a nice relaxing day with mom and then a crazy night at the String Cheese downtown tonight. I get to take her to her very first show and share one of my favorite things in the world.

She became a fan of the band when they streamed their Friday Night Cheese shows while I was recovering from the bone marrow transplant, or what you call the global pandemic world shutdown. It was a chance to have a shared experience during a crazy time. I shared that story with a guy at work and he told me about how when he was in the military stationed in Korea, he and his mom would choose the same numbered solitaire game and see who could finish faster. There’s so much wrong with how what social media and technology has done to us, I love hearing about when we use them right.

So here’s to good days and great shows. I hope everyone gets the best possible version of what this day could be. Happy Saturday!
