Ada’s Story

Ada Deer was a beloved friend and family member to many—and a transformative leader who has inspired and affected the lives of many, many more. She passed away peacefully, in her sleep, at approximately 9:45pm on August 15, 2023. 
 
A memorial service for Ada Deer will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 24 at Grace Episcopal Church, across from the Capitol in Madison. A reception will follow in Vilas Memorial Guild Hall.

Ada Deer's memorial service will be held today at 2pm CT at Grace Church in Madison, WI, with a reception to follow. You can watch online at this link.

Further memorials will be held on the Menominee Reservation and at UW this November. Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts, prayers, and remembrances of Ada.
