Hey Karen and Tabby!!! I'm so sorry that Tabby is struggling so much. I can definitely relate - Taylor is having a tough time with her tummy right now also. (We might be having Thanksgiving Dinner from Cracker Barrel this year! :0( ) I hope and pray that Tabby gets better and stronger every day. I also hope that the sleepness nights are few and far between. (You know I can relate to that, too, with our newborn!) Please pray for Taylor, also, she is having several GI tests tomorrow, including an upper and lower scope with anesthesia, which is always a risk for her. But you are so right, our little girls are the absolute toughest and always find a way to pull through. Hang in there, Karen - I'm sure that brighter days are ahead! I love your family picture!!! Wishing you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Give Tabby lots of hugs and kisses from us! We love you all!

It does seem so much harder when our special needs children get sick. I'm hoping that she's feeling better and that you don't have to take her to the doctors. I wish we were closer so we could be there "literally" for each other. Know that I think of you guys often and lift you all in our prayers. Big hugs to you. I'll email you separately about the diet.

well i must say that Tabitha is the most beautiful snow white i have ever seen. she does look a little concerned with Jason hugging her, like she isn't too sure about that. i am so very proud of Tabitha and Bradley. i know you and Micheal are, too. always keep you all in my daily prayers. God knows best even though we don't always know why. He is in charge and in control. life is a learning and teaching experience and being a grandparent, my children and grandchildren have taught me a lot. i love you all. when times get hard just remember to look up and thank God for all he has done and for the strength to keep going. Good Evening Karen. I have had you in my thoughts a lot lately. I keep the whole family in my prayers especially Tabby and Bradley. You have done such a wonderful job rearing your children. Let me especially brag on you and Micheal with Bradley. You are so right about the love he has for her. That love is a testament as to how you have reared him. I know it is hard to remember at times, but God does not cause these things to happen in our lives, but He does allow them. None of us have the promise of tomorrow. I can't even begin to imagine the strength that it takes for you (and other mothers and fathers like you and Micheal). I admire you and other families like you, (who have children with disabilities) for the patience and love that you show daily. You are so blessed to have Micheal who has been there for you every step of the way. One thing I have learned is that nothing ever happens on our schedule. It will be on God's schedule. I love you all, Aunt Sherrie

I am so sorry to hear things are so hard right now. Dr. Perszyk, Abbie's genetics, truely believes in Carnitine. He wants all of our 1p kids on it. I hope it helps some. Abbie also had some sugar level issues in MAy at one point it dropped to 32 and she was crashing in the nurses arms. I wonder if this is going to come out as one of the symptoms of 1p36? Anyway, we are praying for the sittuation. Let me know if you want to talk. I'll send you my #.

WOW! Tabby- you are getting so big! I think purple is your color- is that eye shadow too?

I hope the Keto diet helps. Are you using the KetoCal? I think using the g-tube makes the diet a lot "easier", but I know it is not fun to weigh the powder and think about sugar all the time... even now you have to buy sugar free cough syrup. Luckily they seem to make a lot more of it now days.

I hate seizures and am so sorry they have been so rough on Tabby and all of you!

I wish you all a wonderful summer.
Love,

Karen:
I hear you loud and clear. It's so hard some days to just get through, yet we do. Our girls and have been and continue to go through so much each day and it's so hard to just watch. We try and we try things and yet still here we are battling that nasty seizure monster. Oh how I wish there was an answer. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and I'm sending you huge hugs.

Psalms 16:7-9 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Hello,

So happy to hear that everything went so well! I know what you are talking about, some people just don't see our special kids as real people, they just prefer to not see them and that makes me so mad. Thankfully there are a few wonderful people out there that take the time to get to know our children and I hope they know how much that means to us as parents. Every time Hunter sees somebody in a white jacket he starts crying, ever since he was a year old. They are so much smarter then people give them credit for, that's for sure! Give miss Tabby a hug for me!

Hey Tabby and Karen! I am so happy to hear that everything went well with Tabby's surgery! I know you never know what to expect with anesthesia and the recovery pain. I hope that you and the doctors can find the medicine or the right mix of medicines to give Tabby seizure-free days. I understand your excitement about Tabby's "dislike" of the hospital. I think you are so right about Tabby's awareness and cognitive abilities! She is "in there", and she is going to eventually be able to show everyone what she knows--she is already starting to communicate more!!! Just stopping in to see how Miss Tabby is doing. Sounds like you really like her new Neuro. Isn't that a wonderful feeling - when someone actually listens to you and takes action? Hi Karen,
Super that the raise in meds worked!! (and something so simple too) Just another thought too, she is getting the B-6, has the doc ever mentioned a vitamin D3 supplemnet while on seizure meds. (so many of these seizure meds deplete the D levels in the kids)
Many more blessings your way, and hopefully more and more speech too!

I'm so sorry to hear about the increase in seizure activity. We know all too well how frustrating it can be. Sara has been on a roll herself lately. Finding the right medicine combo seems to be an ongoing trial and error process. I think a little bit of me dies each time she has one, it's so hard to watch and my heart goes out to you. Miss Tabby and Karen - Oh how I hate to hear about all those seizures!!! There are not many people who can even begin to comprehend what it is like to watch your child seize time after time. Karen, I know that it breaks your heart, and it is impossible to understand what GOOD comes from your child's suffering. I pray that someday we will all understand WHY?, and until then - that God will take care of us and help us through the worst days (as He always does!). I hope that Tabby will be much better soon, and that her appt. with the new neurologist goes exceptionally well! Thinking of you both and praying for your strength!!! Remember that we love you and are here for you always!!!

With Love and HOPE Always,

Hey Tabby and Karen!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE PICTURES!!! Tabby, I know how much hard work that is for you, and you are just doing AWESOME! Look at you sitting up so tall and straight! I am so impressed and proud of you! It looks like you have a great PT, too. That is soooo good. Karen, I'm glad to hear that everything is going well. You and Michael have a great date this weekend. YOU KNOW I HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU HOW MUCH YOU NEED TO DO THAT!!! Well, I hope it is the first date of many more in the future! We have to (and want to) take care of our sweet girls, but we also have to take care of our marriages - it's very important, too! Psalms 100:1-5 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Good morning, Tabitha and how is my baby girl doing today. As I write this I know you are getting ready for school but Mom can read this to you after you're home. I see you've been celebrating Cinco De Mayo and you look beautiful but then you always do. Nothing much happening here but I had you on my mind and I wanted you to know that. I know I say this a lot but you cross my mind everyday, several times a day. The Lord has blessed me with such a great family. I have two marvelous children and four marvelous grandchildren and with God on my side, there isn't anything more that I could ever need. Without my two great parents, I would possibly not even have God in my life. They are and have been a good example for me. I love you baby and hope to see you soon. Romans 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
I know this seems like a strange verse to share but bare with me. Paul wanted to go to Rome badly, but the Lord prevented him. From Paul's perspective it must have been hard to understand. What possible reason could the Lord have had for NOT allowing Paul to preach in one of the greatest cities at that time? I can think of one reason! The book of Romans! If Paul had gone directly to Rome when he wanted to, we wouldn't have this amazing book of the Bible! Oh the comfort and truth found there! How does this apply to us? From our perspective so often in life we can't understand what possible good could come from what we're going through. Just as God was intimately working in Paul's life, He's taking the same love and care with ours! When going through trials that's impossible to see. So it's called faith! Faith that the same God who died on the cross for YOU, loves you enough to work out even the smallest details in your life! And oh how I'm here praying!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This verse shows the tremendous care the Lord takes on our behalf. We can't see the future. We don't know what's best for us. The Lord knows! The Lord is working! The Lord has known from all eternity what is going to happen in each of our lives, and He's working to answer prayers before we even know they're needed.

These words have always been so special to me.
Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Hello! Thanks for the update. I can imagine the bitter-sweetness of your little girls first day at school. I know it's hard to see her growing up so quickly!!! I feel that the sights of the other children, and the sounds of their voices has to be stimulating to Tabitha....a new world to explore, a new adventure for both of you. God has special plans for that little one - but you already know that. I'm so glad to hear that the seizures are better - Klonopin always made Sadie real fussy.....I was glad when we took her off of it too. I'm hoping for more 80 degree days so you and I can get out and go to the park...or perhaps we could take Tabitha & Bradley to the zoo???? I'll let you know in a couple of weeks - when the weather is better. I'm always thinking of you.

For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

I figure it's about time for a thought from Nana. When life gets tough and I don't know which way to turn I know I can always look up to God and he will carry me through. It is not always easy to let him take control of our lives and let him work through us but that's when we have to have faith in him. He will not forsake us.It has taken me many years to get to this point in my life and I have struggles too but always try to let go and let God. I love you all so much and pray for you everyday. Can't wait to see you. nana

Today's passage is longer because I wanted to include the whole sentence. Know that I'm here continuing to pray!
Ephesians 3:14-19 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

According to a forward I received by email today, this verse is the exact middle of the Bible. It's a good verse and one which can take on a whole new meaning when dealing with drs. They don't know everything. The Lord knows ALL things, and any knowledge drs have come from Him. So always look to the source first!

We read this verse at church last night and it's beyond mind boggling: God the Father "turning His back," as it were, on God the Son. Jesus went through that willingly, taking the full punishment for our sins. Since He loved you enough to do that for you, He's not going let you go through anything alone, but will be with you every step of the way.
Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Hi guys:
So glad to see the update. Sounds like your going to have some busy times. I know it's hard to be patient with the VNS but it does take time. It took us quite a while to get to the point we are at now. The Diastat decrease alone is wonderful. We are continuing to pray for all fo you.
That's so great to hear about her school. It's such a blessing when you can find others that care so much and want the best for our children.
We'll be back to hear about your other appointments.
Big hugs from Sara (www.caringbridge.org/nj/saraswalk)

HEY TABBY AND KAREN!!! I love the pictures and the WONDERFUL UPDATE! I am so happy that Tabby is so happy!!! And I know how happy that makes you, Karen. How are her school services going? I know Taylor seems to be really benefitting from hers. I hope Tabby is too! That's great about her vision improving, and I am so glad to hear that the VNS is working well. Maybe when the weather gets a little better - we can all get together!!! I'm sorry that I haven't written or called you in a while, but please don't think that I have ever forgotten you - ya'll are always in my thoughts and prayers. (See, I can use those southern words like "ya'll" with you - since we both have that great southern accent! :0) I guess I better go for now. Give Tabby a big hug and kiss from Taylor!

Heb.4:14-16: Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Ps 31:1-5: In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Always turn to the Lord no matter what each may bring.
Ps 27:7-9 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

Ps 61:1-4: Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Hey Tabby and Karen!!! I love your new pictures! You are so photogenic, Miss Tabby!!! I am so glad to hear that things are going well. Hopefully, the VNS will continue to help with the seizures. Taylor is trying to get a communication assistive device also - mostly to activate toys right now. I think it is great! One of her teachers told me yesterday that a parent of one of her students had only one wish -- for her child to tell her "I Love You!". She said they were able to grant the mother's wish, when they recorded those words on an assistive device, and the child could activate the button to say "I Love You" at any time! I thought that was so sweet! Our hopes and dreams for our special children have changed to some degree, but they are just as precious and perfect as our original expectations!!! We know what is inside our sweet girls -- BEAUTIFUL HEARTS AND PURE MINDS!!! What more could a Mom want in a daughter!!! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!!! TAY-TAY SENDS TABBY BIG HUGS AND KISSES!!!

What a blessing to know that the Lord hears when we cry unto Him.
Ps 22:23-24: Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

Always trust that the Lord does have a plan and that whatever He allows to happen, He has a reason. His Will be done.
