Jimmy-Joe

Updates on our precious son Jimmy. (Jimmy is one of 4 kids born to us. My first child, Lori, passed away of a brain tumor at two and a half yrs. old. See her link below. We have Mike now who is 20, Amy who is 17, and Jimmy who is 15). Jimmy was born on Dec. 26th,1991. He survived a brain tumor, at age 2 & 1/2 yrs. old (which left him non-verbal) With Autistic tendencies. A sacral joint tumor, which was removed and replaced with 2 surgical screws when Jimmy was 7. He has Mild C.P. and suffers from a muscle disease known as Dystonia where his body stiffens and spasms. Together with his 3 Drs. we strive to give Jimmy the best life possible. The spasms arent quite under control yet, but we forge forward and keep trying new options. Right now he is on a medicine protochol, that helps but not as much as we would like. We remain positive and faithful that someday little Jim will be able to live a painfree life free from the clutches of Dystonia.

Hello everyone~* While Jimmy is resting I will update on how he is doing.......Monday was pretty tough for him. He hadn't slept a wink Sunday night. His teeth were hurting him so much that he just stayed awake waiting...probably waiting to Go and have the surgery over with. Monday came and we had to leave at 5:15 A.M. The hosp. wanted us there at 6. (Then we waited for an hour and a half till they were "ready" for him). At about 7:30 they took him in. They gave him versed mixed with another drug that paralyzed him a little bit, so he wouldn't try to run. He usually gets sleepy from the versed but then right when they try to transport him to the stretcher he bolts and runs! So, they decided to give him another drug mixed with the versed. It made him not be able to move anything but his little eyes, which were moving back and forth in his head like he was a bit nervous. I kissed him twice because once is never enough. They took him from me and it was pretty sad to bear. They had to totally knock him out and put the tube for him to breathe down his one nostril. I couldnt bear to see that, plus they recommended I not.....I went to the official waiting room and tried to make myself calm.....hubby had to leave us and go to work. I waited for 2 & 1/2 hrs. and finally the Dr. came out and said he did real well. He took out the 2 impacted teeth and also a cyst which was laying under the gumline of one of the teeth he was picking. He did so well we were released early evening. He has been doing pretty well......trying to smile and just being his sweet sweet self. He is one tough kid, in fact have nick-named him "T.K." this week. :0) I put a few pics of him up on the picture page. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. It would make him smile, So....if you want...(You May Send Mail to our post office address which is: Jimmy K. P/O Box 273577. Boca Raton, Fl. 33427-3577.) Thank you.

What if God really said this: I see you; you're not invisible to me. I see the sacrifices you are making. I see your tears of disappointment. You may feel invisible to those around you, but you are never invisible to me. I miss nothing. No act of kindness, no task, no cupcake, no sequin sewn on is too small for me to notice and smile over. You are building a great cathedral. Keep building. You can't see it now, and it will not be finished in your lifetime. You will not have the chance to live there, but if you build it well, I will.
