HELP ST. JUDE BY CREATING A PEPPER AT CHILI'S TO FIGHT CHILDHOOD CANCER!!!!

St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and Chilis Grill & Bar announced the kick-off of their fifth annual Create-A-Pepper to Fight Childhood Cancer campaign. Now through September 30, Chilis restaurants around the country and, for the first time, in Puerto Rico, are marking National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by inviting people to get creative and raise funds to help St. Jude find cures and save children with cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Guests at participating Chilis restaurants can contribute to St. Jude in multiple ways:

- Make a donation to St. Jude and receive a Create-A-Pepper chili pepper coloring sheet designed for display at restaurants during the month.

- Purchase Create-A-Pepper T-shirts that can be customized with permanent marker.

- Buy a customized Create-A-Pepper key that can be cut for use at home or the office.

- Eat at Chilis on Monday, Sept. 29, when Chilis will donate 100 percent of profits from participating restaurant sales to St. Jude.

Visit www.createapepper.com and to make an online donation.

PASS IT AROUND!!!!

GET YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY TOGETHER!!! TRUST ME ITS SUCH AN AMAZING CAUSE :)

Hip hop, hippety hop
My Easter Bunny went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
hed thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your Bunny has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

Hi Dianne!
I am sorry that I have not written in awhile, but I recently moved and did not have internet until today! I hope that you are enjoying school - I can't believe that you are already in the 3rd grade. You have to let me know where your family's bakery is because I moved very close to Greek Town. I would love to stop by. Make sure you stop by Mrs. Schorr's office and give her a big hug (you can tell her that I miss her). Glad to hear all is well. Thinking of you, Ms. o'Connor

About two years ago (more or less) after talking to Kelly Kornias Dianne's cousin, I was told about Dianne's condition. I wrote a few wishes like most people did. Today after talking to Kelly again, I was told Dianne is in remission I saw her picture and her beautiful hair. I am in tears and I can't really write what I want to, but miracles do happen and Dianne is a miracle herself. God Bless her and her family, GOOD NEWS. :-)

Dianne,

First, Happy Birthday! Wow, you are getting so old! Next, only 2 days to the big trip ... you must be so excited. My favorite part of Disney is Cinderalla's castle. They have a light parade at night, I loved it! I am sure that you will too. I hope that you have fun, I will be thinking about you.

Just to let you know, Mrs. Hemmerich had a baby girl on June 11th. Her name is Marina. Caleb is a great big brother. We are all heading to the Outer Banks for vacation on August 5th. It will be a great time. Caleb's birthday is August 8th and he will be three. Mine is that week as well and we'll just say that I am going to be 10 times older then Caleb. Start learning those multiplication facts to figure out how old I will be.

Enjoy your summer. I'm thinking about you and your entire family. Give Mickey a big hug for me.

Love, Ms. O'Connor

Hi Dianne!

Your last treatment will be June 25th! I can't believe it. I am so happy for you. I am so glad that I was able to stop by school and see you and Michael (as well as the many other students).

When do you go to Disney? Do you think they will let your old teachers go with you? You let me know.

Only a few more days until summer break. I only have 8 - Mrs. Hemmerich said that you all have 10, but she only has 2 more days. She is going to have another baby. Caleb is very excited! I'll let you know if caleb has a baby brother or sister.

Well, I am so glad to see that you are doing well. I miss you. Tell your family that I am thinking about them.

Love, Ms. O'Connor

PS - I am still curious to know how Ms. Vogel did with the sunblock for free play and field day. Let me know.

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Hello, i was watching a couple of new records being set at the Olympics today, so thought i would look up some slightly stranger ones instead of some jokes.

Here's a couple;

Most spoons balanced on the face
Tim Johnston (USA) (b. 1 January 1992), was able to balance on his face (one on each ear, two on each cheek, three on his chin, two on his lips, one on his nose and three on his forehead) and balance them for 30 seconds at on May 28, 2004.

British pub landlord Garry Turner clipped 153 ordinary wooden clothes pegs on his face at the WH Smith bookshop in York, Yorkshire, UK, on September 28, 2002

Dear Dianne, I was at the luncheon yesterday at church and you are truly a very beautiful, energetic young lady. I am very glad that you are feeling better, and i hope that your Doctor's visit on monday went well. I was so glad to see your Aunts, Christina, and Georgia and your papou Stamati, I haven't seen them in a very long time. It was nice to see them again. Your Papou lives just down the street from my daughter's house, maybe one day when you are feeling okay your mom and dad will let you come over to play with my 21/2 year old granddaughter. Your mom and dad can come over too. I'll talk to her about it. Well, see you later and i hope your week goes well.

Hugs and Kisses,

Rosie

Hi Dianne,
You don't know me,but I grew up knowing your papou Stamati and yiayia Dianne. I also know your mom and dad from when we were growing up and went to ST. Nicholas Church together. I always go to the bakery every New year
and every EASTER to get the special holiday bread that your
dad bakes it is very good. Your dad told me about what
happened to you last year and he was very sad and angry. I
was very upset when I left the bakery that day and i have
been thinking of you ever since and praying that you get
better real fast. I didn't know about your website till
today April 7,2004 when i went to your dad's this morning to get tsourekia for Easter. I saw the little cards that were on the counter and took one so that i can communicate
with you and your mom. I saw your mom on Palm Sunday, when i went to the bakery to get some baklava and galatoboureko.
Boy, the pastery was sooooo good. I asked your mom how you were doing and she said alot better. I am very happy to hear that. Your dad is very funny, especially when we both
start talking and joking in greek, and when your mom is there it's even better. we laugh alot. I see your Thea
Despina at the safeway in perry hall alot and ask about you . Alot of people think that we are sisters. I am from
lithi to, so i guess we all look alike. Well hope you are feeling better and you have a nice Easter. I will write to you again and hope that you and your mom will get a chance
to write to me too. May God Bless you and keep watch over
you always and your family too. Xristos Anesti.

Dorothy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom, she was such
a nice person. May God rest her soul. Keep in touch, and if you ever need anything e-mail or call. 410-803-2001.

Love,
Rosie

Dianne, This is Charles Stover. My wife and I know your father very well. We visited on the day of the parade and found out about your condition. Dianne I am going to ask you to believe what I tell you. My father was diagnosed, at an early age with a acute disease that would end his life early, and he was unable to stand and walk. A group of people, from a local church, came by and said they would say a prayer for him that night and he could listen to it on the radio. My father did so and during the prayer a miracle happened. My mother was in the bedroom and heard a noise in the kitchen. She went to the kitchen to find my father standing over the sink, drinking some water. She asked how he got in there and he told her he was listening tho the prayer and felt a feeling come over him. He fell asleep in out Lord, 66 years later. The power of prayer is real, and I have seen the miracle. Be a true believer and I will be doing a special prayer for YOU, every night. I will pray with a vision of your condition, in my mind. I hope you will feel the difference when I pray. Anyone you know who can hold your hands and pray with you will help. I am confident you can remove this sickness from your body, I need you to believe this. You will feel the Power of Our Lord, I am sure. God be with you now and always. You and your family will be invited to our house, this summer, when I open the pool, to enjoy, what I call, a day and night by the Agean. We have it decorated with flowers and lights and plenty of Greek music. Color lights and a fountain in the pool. Please keep in touch through my e-mail and YOU will beat this, Your Friends, Charles and Maria Stover

Hi Dianne. I just received an email from my best friend, Joyce Kosmas. She told us about you and how how brave and special you are. I was very touched by all of your letters and well wishes to you. I wish you a very short recovery and hope that you will do well with all your treatments. You are a very special girl and must keep your head held high, and know that other children don't always mean what they do or say, they just don't understand what you are going through. I know this because I have a 13 year old daughter who has seizures. Children don't understand if their parents don't explain it to them. So keep up the good work, we will all pray for a speedy recovery. Remember with lots of love and faith, which you have with your family and friends, you will make it through. The same goes for mommy and daddy. I wish you well, very fast. Take care sweety and and remember you have alot of people praying for you.

Well Dianne I just want to say how proud I am to hear that your spirts are up and you are still going to school. Don't worry about those kids that are mean to you at school because they just haven't been taught that there are unique people like you in this world. Their parents are ingnorant to the fact that they don't teach these children respect to each and every individual.
Girl take care of your self and I will keep you in my prayers.
I have a little girl who is 4 and just to think how you have just been diagnosed makes me concerned.

Hello Dianne,
Since I went into your fathers bakery this morning, you have been on my mind all day . I asked him about his shaven head, thinking he lost on the "superbowl" football game and that's when he told me all about you, his precious little girl. By the look in his eyes you have the "BEST" dad in the whole wide world. I live in "greektown" and have seen you many times at the bakery. I am good friends with your Thea and Theo (Debbie & Jimmy), George, Phedrea and Trisha. As a matter of fact, my family and I saw you in George & Phadrea's wedding, you truly did look like a princess. With all my heart, I wish I could trade places with you so you wouldn't have to be sick anymore. I understand how sick you can get, my dad had leukemia many years ago. Your mom is your "guardian angel" and you are both blessed to have each other and also such a wonderful family. I will always keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and I hope to see you in the bakery, one day soon. XOXOXOXOXXOXOXO

Dear Dianne,

I remember having similiar problems with my chemo. Vincristine was rough and I eventually had to have the dose cut in half in order to tolerate it. I also had problems with Predisone. I was 15 and hated the fact that my face was so puffy so I tried really hard not to eat so much. Wrong decision! That is when I experienced stomach cramping and indigestion. The puffy face will go away. I have been Leukemia free for 22 years. I know it is hard to get through these harsh protocols but it is worth it. Hang it there.

Hello Dianne,
You do not know me or my family, but my father, Vasili Dargakis, knows your father. I stopped by your family's store in Highlandtown and bought some bread; your father recognized me as a daughter of my father. We started to talk, and I found out about your new challenges in life. I have a daughter, Foula, who was born on May 6, 1998, and I love her very much -- just like your parents love you. If I had to go through this difficult time with her, I would be right by her side.
God presents us with different challenges in life. Sometimes it doesn't seem fair, but I know God thinks you are strong enough to get through this part of your life. My sister, a doctor, was recently diagnosed with non-Hoskins disease. She is in remission, but it has brought us closer together as a family. It also makes us appreciate life each day.
We go to St. Nicholas, and I see you in church. I will try to make an effort to say hello to you next time.
Hang in there -- we know God and your guardian angel is with you each step of the way.
Keep smiling and keep happy thoughts.
Love,

Hi Dianne,
I got your name from John's guestbook and see you were also on Kendrie' list. I am so sorry you are having so much pain from the vincristine and steroids. My daughter, Leah, was diagnosed with ALL in Nov. 2001. She had a bone marrow transplant on Nov. 2003.
We pray you are feeling better real soon. Maintenance is so much better.

Hi Dianne. Got your site through the 100 list. My son Connor has ALL and was put on the Augmented Protocol due to a poor early response. His protocol was "more intensive than the standard and experimental regimens on COG 1991" Based on what I read on your homepage yours sounds like what Connor is/was on. He had 2 DI's with 2 IM's including Peg shots and Daunomyacin. At any rate, the second DI was much harder on Connor than the first one was. The good news is this, you will make it through and when you do Maintenance is just around the corner. Good luck and all of our prayers to you.

Hi Dianne: I, too, found your site from Kendrie. You must have had a fun time all dressed up at your cousin Effie's
wedding. You looked as beautiful as the bride.

Sorry about the leg pain. My son had some pain in his jaws from that nasty Vincrinstine. I found heat and just holding him tightly and rubbing his cheeks always soothed the pain. It only lasted maybe 5 minutes, 5 minutes too long. Your mom must stay busy with 5 children. How much fun for you to have brothers and sisters to play with. Alot of fun and excitement in your home.

Harris and I met so many children with ALL at Miami Children's Hospital. Hang in there - it only gets better.
I know the steriods will make you very hungry and moody but
this too will pass. You are on the road of recovery.
Take care and I will visit you again soon.

I'm sorry that this delayed intensification is so hard. My son, Caleb had two of them too. He had terrible leg pains as well. He would soak in a tub of warm water. Hi Dorothea and Dianne,
Dianne, you are so beautiful! My daughter Julia who also is 5 years old and has leukemia is sending you a hug.
Dorothea, I know you got on the tough protocol, but the doctors will keep a close eye on Dianne and remember, you have the option to leave the study and get on the standard treatment at any time. I am sure that Dianne will do great. Stay positive.

Dianne,
You are very beautiful! You still have beautiful eyes, a gorgeous smile and a very pretty face. I am sorry that someone made you fell bad about your hair but it will all grow back soon. My little boy has cancer too. He is nine and he still has a hard time understanding about why he has cancer and why the doctors want to keep poking him. I think each of you must be pretty special to God. I will remember your pretty face when I saw my prayers.

Dianne, you are beautiful-hair or no hair! My son Christopher was dx 10/8/02 and just lost his hair...his Dad shaved his head, too!In the beginning some kids were calling Christopher "puffy cheeks" and then he went off steroids -went back and different kids called him names-there are just mean kids in this world. Your road is tough enough-just concentrate on getting well. Remember, no one knows why this happened, but hopefully you and Christopher will help stop any other child from getting ALL. Keep up the fight...enjoy the summer-less hair to get in your way on hot days!We will say a prayer for you today...too many children fighting cancer...The Melkonian Family
