I just wanted to pop in to say hi.I seen your son's banner on a site I learned about from a friend.I really liked his.I'm hoping for the best for your son.We know how crappy this disease is and what it puts them through.I've gotta say my daughter is stronger than I'd ever be going through everything she's been through. The kids are so brave and so strong.I hope you don't mind that I signed your guestbook with not knowing me.

Praying for you today. Keep up the good fight, Nathaniel!
13 is a fantastic age.

May His Hand be on Your Shoulder

May His hand be on your shoulder
Through these trying hours and days,
His Guiding Light surround you
As you tread these shadowed way.
May you know His warmth as sadness
Breaks its cold wave on your shore;
May you feel His love enfold you
With a faith sound and secure.
May His prescence close beside you
Give you strength to carry on,
Trusting in His tender promise
Of a new and brighter dawn.

To Saint Peregrine (Patron Saint of Cancer Patients)
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you. We hold up all those who fight these horrible diseases in our utmost prayers.

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.

A giraffe looks in my window
At the same time everyday,
He just appears with silly ears,
When I turn on the light to play.

I tell him the things I do at two
While he munches and crunches the leaves,
That are so very tasty too,
From the tippy tops of the trees.

One night he didn’t look so good,
His eyes were filled with pain.
I asked him, "What is the problem, the food?"
He said, "I must explain!"

"My knees are hurting pretty bad
And my long neck is so sore.
I really do like our talks,
But I can't take much more!
If you do a favor for me,
I know how my pain will be free.

CAN YOU MOVE UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR!!!

We're so happy to hear of Nathaniel's great visit and counts. I have to keep coming back to your site to read and re-read your paragraph about Beth Moore's explanation of death. She really has a wonderful (and easy) way of getting God's message across and cutting a path through the muck and mire of doubt and circumstance. With the losses throughout our Caringbridge community these past few months it has been difficult some days to keep that positive faith focus - for me, anyway. (I must be one of those mustard seed people!) But it is a beautiful way of explaining the way we leave our earthly lives and begin our eternal one. We continue to keep Nathaniel in our prayers each and every day. God Bless you all!

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your wallet...just yesterday I was at the store paying and pulled out a $20 (I had three folded together) to pay but when I got home (just a few blocks away) I discovered that the other two were no longer in my purse. I either dropped them and didn't notice or someone behind me reached in and pulled them out...I did have my purse sitting on the counter and turned my back to put my groceries into the bag for the young girl at the register...guess it doesn't pay to be so helpful??? I only lost $40 and I know how I have stressed over that for two days, so I can only imagine how you feel with your entire wallet gone...I can't believe that someone would do that!!

Hi Vickie,

I know you do not want any thanks, but gosh, I'm going to THANK YOU and Stephanie anyhow for making that awesome luminarie for Jordan! I was just so touched and so very "HONORED". You are truly such a thoughtful and giving person.

I love the name of your daughter! I have a sister named "Stephanie" and it was because of that name, (heard a song many years ago called "Stephanie", that I met my husband! I said I would name my daughter that, but well, God blessed me with 5 sons instead! He He...

Loved the pictures of Nathaniel, looked like he was having lots of fun for sure.

Keep spreading your love, and letting your light burn brightly. I'm so blessed our paths have crossed!

Blessings to you my friend,

Susan & Jordan

Hi Vickie,

I just love the song on Nathaniel's page! Well, school is almost over, YEAH!!! (For you and the kids...)

I just want you to know how much I appreciate all the sweet messages you leave us, and for others too! I always enjoy reading what you share, I get encouraged, (even if it's for someone else too!) You really have a gift to encourage and minister.

I will be praying about the "rages", God only knows what's going on inside, meanwhile I will pray for "peace" to cover him day and night.

I thought of you as I read this scripture today:

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52:7

So grateful to know you,

Susan & Jordan

Hi Nathaniel and Family,
Just wanted to say how very cool your new bike ramp is...my
son Greg (age 14) saw it too and is quite green with envy!
It sure looks like you are enjoying it a lot. Do you let
your brother Matthew use it too? It must be pretty neat
to have a twin to share things with! Anyway, we are glad
you are feeling better these days and pray you and your
family have a very blessed summertime, enjoying each other
and making great memories together!

Vicki & Nathaniel...Sounds like you have had a rough go of it little guy!Know my prayers go out to you, your mom & family! I sign on Nolan Kane's site once in awhile & seen your site there. We are so happy that Nolan got good news on his MRD test! We all prayed really hard for that wonderful young man! My granddaughter Tanya Klein was diagnosed with leukemia(ALL) in Feb 2000 & was in St. Judes Hospital in Memphis,TN.She was almost 3 years of age,her b-day is Mar 1st.It was a rough time for all of us! She has a sister that is 18 months older than she. Tanya went thru chemo & lots of meds. But she is 9 years old now & completely cancer free, has been off of chemo & meds for 4 years now. She goes back to St Judes hospital once a year for check-ups & will be going there last of June for her annual checkup & we pray each time that she is still cancer free & so far our prayers have been heard!! So now we will put Nathaniel in our prayers!I just know they will be heard for him also!!

Hi Vicki, I first want to thank you for coming by Angela's site. WE love to have new friends. I thought it was funny we are both named Vicki and it is spelled the same and we both work in Elem. Schools. I have been working in the schools now for 13 years. I have done what you are doing now. But for the last three years I am the ECE clerk. I really like it.
You can say Nathniel has some more people praying for him now. He has gone through so much in his short life. But sounds like he is a very strong boy. Tell him not to worry about school it will be out soon and he will have the summer. Again thanks for stopping by. I just up date Angela's site once a week. Usually on Sat. or Sundays.

Hi Nathaniel,
Thinking of you today. Here is a joke I thought you might like.

One day an Eskimo decided to go fishing. He found some good ice, made a hole in it and sat down with his rod. After just a few minutes he heard a loud voice....

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

Frightened, he looked around but couldn't see anyone. After a while he decided he imagined it and carried on fishing.

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

This time, he was sure he hadn't imagined the voice at first, and spent several minutes looking around for someone, but there was no one to be seen. So he sat back down, picked up his rod, and carried on fishing.

"FOR THE LAST TIME THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE"

By now he was getting really scared. He DEFINATELY hadn't imagined that voice, it was loud, it was clear, it was shouting at HIM. He looked up and timidly asked "i..i.i..i..is that G... G... G... God?"

"NO" said the voice "IT'S THE ICE RINK MANAGER

Sitting here thinking of Nathaniel, and praying he is continuing to improve.

I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes...For in the righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteousness will live by faith." Romans 1:16-17

Good morning my good friend. Do you know who that is a picture of? It is Suzy Zoo. I like Suzy Zoo alot she is very cool.I was just looking at your pictures and must say you are very cute! Isn't it funny how us people on the internet can become such good friends even though we never really met face to face. I am going to share a poem with you today ok? Love&Hugs,Jessica www.caringbridge.org/nv/jessicalisathomas
Well today I was feeling happy
So had to share it all with you,
Let's up and just be joyful
And sing the whole day through.

Whatever happened yesterday
Jesus knows about for sure,
And seeing as He's in control of tomorrow
We have nothing then to worry for.

Well now that takes care of both of them
So all that matters is today,
And seeing as we're always thankful
We'll be set in every way.

Words can't explain my feelings for all of you. I love you all very much and I am so glad that we have each other in this time of need. Nathaniel, you are my heart and I think of you every minute. I miss you when I am not with you and I hate to leave you when it is time to go home. God has Blessed this family so much and I know he will continue to do so. You make me laugh when I think of the silly things you say and do and you always put a smile on my face even when I think that couldn't be possible. I love you, sweet boy!

It is indeed very nice to read that you all had a great Christmas together !!!!! I hope 2004 brings the necessary answers for Nathaniel´s treatment, alternative ways, new drugs, whatever solution for his total cure. The world needs him right here to be a better place.
Christmas in Brazil is comemorated just like in the US with Santa Claus, big trees and lots of presents. Everybody has a late dinner on the 24th and a delicious lunch on the 25th. And of course, we get FAT. But it is a sweet holiday. On dec 31st, we also have a late dinner and wait until midnight to watch the fireworks and drink lots of champagne and renovate our faith and hope of a better year.
Many hugs and kisses from Brazil.

Hi Natahaniel,
Just got done reading the update your Mom put on the site.
Was very glad to hear of the great time you had at the wedding and you got to dance lots with Misty, I believe that is her name. Way to go!
Glad to see you're getting along okay.
I heard that you enjoyed the Wolverine mask and claws that I had sent you. That made me glad to see I could put a smile on your face.
So please take care and I'll check back in a few days.

Dear Nathaniel,

I want to tell you how proud I am to have such a strong and courageous young man in the family. I can't pretend to know how difficult it must be for you to fight this fight. I do know a couple of things. I know your family loves you very much. I know your Father in Heaven loves you very much, and He has a plan for you--a great plan. He has chosen you to be a brave warrior and to grow strong. Even though it may be hard for us to understand sometimes, what appears to be a curse is really a blessing; because your Father in Heaven loves you so much, and has a plan for you. I'd like to share something with you that most people don't know about. I think it's safe to tell you because I already know what a strong young man you are. You have already demonstrated incredible power over your body. That power you channeled and focused before came from Almighty God. You are directly connected to God and His Power when you use your power. People all over the world, everyday, make "miraculous recoveries" that doctors don't understand and can't explain. God's Power is infinite. It can't be examined by doctors or measured by scientists. God makes that power available, but most people don't use it. Just because most people don't use it or understand it doesn't mean the power doesn't exist. You are living proof that it does exist. You have harnessed this power before and I believe you can do it again. I will be happy and honored to write back and forth to you through email. Be strong, be brave, and cherish all of the love and power that surrounds you.

Hi
These kids are SICK of being SICK. They just want to be normal. Your son is older now, and the game changes for him mentally. My son is 13 but was 11 when diagnosed with ALL. He is also a fighter and not so very nice to those around him. BUT, this fighting spirit is what heals, what gets them healthy and helps them cope during "pre" puberty phases.

Davis is a handful, but I wouldn't have it any other way. His fighting spirit is a gift from God. If you want to talk, please get a hold of me. If you email, please reference Davis so I don't "junk" you.

Take care. We are heading for a Teen cancer camp in Montana this morning. They take the kids as young as 10, I've noticed, and it is 100% paid.

Well, Vicki I think all Nathaniel reactions are very normal due to his disease. He is tired, frustated and worried with his future. And of course, sometimes, very mad at it. He has all the reasons for that. Any adult would be acting even worse than that. He is a wonderful beautiful boy and I am sure you are very proud of him. He deserves the respect of us all for his nice and mature behavior. I wish his story turned 180 degrees for the best and only happy days came along. Tell him that if he ever has any curiosity about my country I will be honored to give any kind of information he wants.
Kisses and hugs from his Brazilian friend.

Hello Nathaniel,

I just wanted to visit your site and say "Hello". I hope you are feeling much better and the sadness is gone. I know it must be awful to not feel good.

I wanted to let you know that I am a twin also. My sister was born 2 minutes before me. Her name is Mindy and mine is Cindy. Being a twin is so much fun. We use to confuse a lot of people when we were younger. My youngest sister is now pregnant with twins that are due in January. Our family is blessed with twins.

Have a terrific week! God bless!

Hi, Everyone We're Baaaaaak!!! What a great trip we had. Ryan didn't fair as well at the rodeo but this proud Mom is glad he just had the experience of qualifying for Nationals.(CNFR) He was the only member of the Murray State team to qualify...that's something to be proud of!!?? His stock draw was really bad.. two of his three steers set up ( that's where they come out of the shoot and stop!!) Not much you can do. Anyway I found me element... dry heat, mountains, rocks to climb and horses everywhere!!! We got a new horse--Wiser is his name...It's a calf roping horse.. Hey guys, Mom will have to bring you down to ride... Maybe we can even get her on...wouldn't that be a site for sore eyes.. If she won't, I'll ride with you.. Nathanel, I hear you're giving lines and drawing blood again. It's my turn soon. I still have pictures of my last ones at Riley. You may be a DR. someday..I talked to Mom and know you're headed back to Chicago tomorrow.. Always know my thoughts and prayers are with you.. I hope to see you soon.. I'll call Mom in a few days and check on you.. I love you all!!XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Nathaniel, I know you were too young to remember, but when you and Matthew were just little babies, you came to my house for a visit. You both would be lying on the floor and if you made any little sound or whimper, I'd try to comfort you by licking you in the face or on the head. The adults didn't think this was too cool because I'm a dog....but you knew I was just looking out for you.

Hello Stewart Family! Oh, the site looks absolutely wonderful! Nathaniel! You are such a nice looking young man! Of course, what else would one expect from an everloving child of God! Besides my being a Daughter of our Heavenly Father, I have 3 Daughters of my own that also can claim that status and I have 3 sons who can't claim to be daughters, of course, but sons of God! Isn't it wonderful to know that even when we are feeling punk and know we just need to chill out, that Jesus is always near and understands what we feel as he has already suffered not only for our sins, but also for every pain and discomfort we have or will ever suffer! We are never alone! It brings me great comfort to know that.
I really love, Vicki, and I bet the rest of you are just as kewl as she is! Naturally! Well, I have ragged on long enough. You guys take care, and remember, there is a woman in Tennesee that thinks an awful lot of you! Oh, Vicki, thank you for the mention of Beth Ann. I am sure her family would approve!

Hi Vicki, there's no way to explain to a child why they are having to go through what they do. Cancer sucks!!! What a brave 9 year old Nathaniel is to endure all these procedures, and those nasty shots. Vickie, maybe there is a way you could do something about spending time with children on a cancer ward, it's not just that you are a parent, you have a huge heart! God is reality, but we humans face the age-old question- WHY???
Praying for your entire family,

Tamara

No words describe how happy I am about the good news. I wish I were there to go to the hospital with you so I could help out and bring you whatever you want to eat. Also to keep your Mom from shoping too much. Remember how she always snuck out to shop. Just kidding Vicki, I know you will get the joke. Please let me know what you like now to take with you to the hospital so I can send a care package. Donny Im sure you and Matthew are taking care of everything for Mom and Nathaniel. I love you all and think of you every day. Aunt Theresa

Hi Nathaniel,
Just got done reading your update, and wow I even got some ink, pretty cool. I have not seen the new movie X-men but I do remember a very long time ago, reading the comic books with Super heroes in them and one of the ones I remember is Wolverine, brings back nice memories when I was a boy, but I am big boy now at 42, ha! ha! Trust me us boys never grow up! I still have all my comic books from when I was kid and I will have to see which ones I have. I bet a have a few with the Marvel comics with Superman, Captain Marvel, Spiderman, maybe even Wolverine. I'll tell you what I will search for them, some time soon, see which ones I have, and I will send you a nice surprise in the mail if I can get your mailing address. Maybe it would help help to brighten up a day for you.
So if I figure out where my comics out and get your address, I'll send you some nice old comics.
I continue to pray for you every nightand think of you often.
I would have liked to been camping with you and your family as I am from Michigan originally so I guess I could deal with the cold.
So please take care and I hope you feel better soon,
Your big brother,
Kevin

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
