We are connected my child and I,

the dream when you signed the other day. So, I
thought that I would tell you about it. Other than
pictures I have not ever seen or touched sweet
Katelyn BUT this dream was so real. She was walking
and angelic in every way. She just seemed
perfect in every way. Nothing was wrong with her.
When I woke up I had to think about it for
a moment just becuase all though she was the girl
in the pictures... she was perfect. Thank you
again for sharing your sweet angel with Collin and
I. It means so much. Thank you for asking her
to watch out over my baby. He is in so much pain
all of the time and I know that he is comforted
by sweet little angels. Thank you!!!

Good lord girl, I am sure that no one thinks you are dwelling on the "bad." Everything that happened to Katelyn is part of her life. I think that if you left out parts, it would be sort of like being in denial. All that she went through made Katelyn who she was, and it makes you who you are as well. I find your posts inspiring and your love for your adorable daughter touching. I just wish I had gotten a chance to know her.

I can only echo what you have said about learning to not take the little things for granted. That is one of the very first things Sophie taught me. I always tell how I have no idea how old Alison was when she learned to clap. I just sorta said oh she's clapping now. I can tell you everything about the day that Sophie did it for the first time! We worked on it for a long time in therapy and I cried when it happened! I don't take anything for granted with either one of them anymore!

your own broken heart to comfort my breaking
heart this past weekend. You are a very special
woman. I learned along time ago.. there are some
things that just are not for family to comment

When we decided to have Regan we got so many
negative comments since TTD is genetic. Who
are they to judge when they have not walked a

Just dropping by to say hi. Marg is Kirk's nurse tonight and she insists that I say "Hi" for her and to tell you that she'll write very soon. Of course I've been filling everyone in on your news and have told them to get out there and give blood too!
I will as soon as the one year anniversary is up for my pierced ear from last year. They won't let me give blood for a whole year! But at the end of the summer, I'll have done my time.
I'm overwhelmed at all the support flowing our way out of Katelyn's webpage and from all her 'fans'. That kiddo continues to spread her warmth and love through all of you!

Katelyn has proved to me that little angels often perform their jobs without us even knowing it...flitting and fluttering amongst us kinda like...ummm....glowing , purple, butterflies or somethin'.

Hello Brian and Deb, I have to work till 4 on Monday but I will try and get out a little early. Scot and the boys will be there though. I took the boys to the cemetary yesterday for the first time. The headstone is amazing!!!
Matthew had a lot of questions and after our visit with Granny and Aunt Bet, I put them in the car and he immediately asked if we could go see Katelyn again and say goodbye before going home. So we did. The three of us sat beside her and sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Matthew truly can be so amazing. We will see you on Monday. Not sure what time for me. We love you both very much.

Hello eveyrone, Well afraid that I am not much support to Kelly...have been doing alot of running around with both girls, working during the day so I haven't seen much of her. Funny you would think working here makes it easier!! So much for that...
Brandon is doing great...we went back up to full feed last night and it went great...O2 has been steady are 90 during the day so we've left him off the oxygen and only uses it at night...but it does give him a better sleep. He's even put some weight back on over the week!! YEAH. He never ceases to amaze me...so hopefully he will be home in no time now. Dad is spending the weekend with him (apparently that is more fun..Dad spends more money than Mom, go figure) and I will be heading off to Montreal with my girls. I will be checking in. Hope everyone has a great long weekend and HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATELYN!!! Don't spend too much time swimming in your ice cream with your Grandpa & Caillin!! Love you little one!

Hi everyone,
Well I am happy to report that Brandon had a great night. First time he has slept all night and not woke up to gasping and coughing!! We know that he has a staph infection and yes MRSA is still with us. We're trying Vacomycin again to see if we can get rid of it. He was a little discouraged that he still has it since it keeps him away from Marnies (for those of you who don't know Marnie's it is an awesome place for the kids to mingle, shoot pool, cook, play games or just hang out watching a big screen), unfortunately with Brandon having MRSA he is not permitted to go there because of the risk of passing it along to someone, it could be serious for anyone! On the up note is Brandon's Aunty Edna brought his sisters Krystyna & Emily up for a visit last night which was a surprize!! A good one since Brandon even noted that his big sister was nice to him, go figure!!! and Litte Miss Emily was a good little girl full of jokes, hugs and kisses for her Brother, oh to be 4 years old again!!! No word on when we're going to be sprung but no biggie, as long as he's feeling better I'll take what I can get eh!! Sorry for the long post....and Deb....my feet aren't that gorgeous....I think Toby's pretty safe!

Well Brandon is feeling much better than Saturday when he came in...haven't been told about what the cultures are yet (gee I'll have to check for myself here at my desk hehe). I will let you all know. Deb...can't stop laughing, my feet by the way look LOVELY....don't worry everyone I got the guilt trip from Brandon quote "That's it leave your sick son alone for your nails & feet" Low and behold I show up 2 hrs later with pizza and find him happily playing with one of the many voluteers and now I'M INTRUDING!!! So much for the sick son trip..lol. Haven't spoken with Kelly when I got back last night I figured they needed their family time but think I'll offer her Salad King for supper (stop drooling Deb!). OK, guess that's a long enough rant...thanks Deb for always being there and to the rest of our extended family...don't know what I'd do without you...still trying to figure out how I survived before you!!!

Hello everyone,
Well Kelly & Kirkie arrived safe & sound last night (Deb I hope you got me message). Unfortunately, Kelly and I were not able to talk much but I did give her a huge hug...as of today I have not had a chance to see her unfortunately but hopefully I will around lunchtime check in and see if she needs anything and find out how Kirkie is doing.
Brandon is feeling starting to feel better and did not require day oxygen yesterday only at night time. We are still having trouble with his feeds but we split it into two sessions yesterday evening and night and it seemed to let him breath a little easier. He didn't wake up gasping as much as the past week so that's an up. As usual his spirits are good which makes it easier.
I will continue to let you all know how Brandon is and Kirkland with Kelly's blessings of course. Thank you so very much for all your kind words of support.

I think it is so important to donate blood. I donate every 3 months. Actually I am donating this Thursday in Bowmanville. I was not aware to could donate in someones name. I am going to ask them about that. I am O- so I am a universal donor. I am also going to join the bone marrow registry. I just have to lose a little more weight as they have restrictions with health and weight and all that...understandable. I really do love the headstone. I love that it is a pick color of stone. What a beautiful tribute to Katelyn it fits her perfectly just like her parents do!! Great job Deb & Brian. FYI..guys unfortunately Brandon has not been feel well along with Kirkland! As I write this 7C is waiting to see what discharges they have today and then we're in! Poor thing this has been a hard one, he can't do anything at the moment without losing his breath and in the mornings he keeps waking up gasping for breath! A doctor once told you that Katelyn would never see her first birthday and she proved them wrong. All the love you and Brian gave her, she did make it to her first birthday and she was even home to celebrate it with her family.

deb..the headstone is lovely and it looks really good. I have a 16 month old son and you and katelyn have taught me so much. You have taught me to take one day at a time and enjoy the small stuff. If I ever see a Heavenly butterfly I know I just did!! OMG girl! That was truly sent right from Katelyn to you. THats amazing. I always say that yellow and white butterflies (thats all I see) are from Jacob. Now I gotta keep my eye out for those ones! That really touched me.

What a cutie pie!
Thank you for sharing your daughter's couragous story. I lost a child 12 years ago from a form of muscular dystrophy. Andrew was also born on August 1st. Now my 13 year old daughter is fighting bone cancer. She is doing well. It is amazing how brave our children are and how much we learn from them about the art of living. Don't know how my name ended up on Collin's message- that's weird. But I did write you a message the other day and it must be out there in cyberspace somewhere.
I was glad to hear from you tonight- was starting to get a bit worried. I wasn't on line much last week either.
Looks like so far, Kirk's able to fight off whatever he has, here at home. His sats are still weird but he's stabilizing in other areas.

I can only imagine what you are cooking up for Katelyn's birthday. Whatever it is, I know it will be full of class and very beautiful. You and your family pay such wonderful tribute to her little life. I know the birthday is the hardest celebration to cope with for most. I think that what you're doing is the best idea - just celebrate Katelyn! It's hers and your special day to be spent together whether in person or in spirit. Being able to make plans, spend time doing something nice in Katelyn's memory for yourselves, share warm thoughts, spend time with all of those who love her the most...I think this is a very healthy way to deal with your grief during a difficult occasion. And you can trust me...I've watched a lot of Dr. Phil in my day LOL.
Anyway, I'm always thinking of you guys and I pray that you're feeling better with each new day.

Hi! Just Karen checking in. I have been watching the radar weather on the net and you guys are just off the screen... but alot of rain is coming out from your way.
