Hello all,
Spring is here and I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to share a brief update on my treatment and a quick note about the PanCAN PurpleStride event that occurred on April 27th
On Monday, May 6, I had my 3 month CT scan and on Tuesday I had my 32nd chemotherapy treatment! I'm thrilled to say that my CT scan results reveal that my tumors continue to remain stable (no growth or spreading to other areas of my body). My blood test results also revealed that my tumor markers and other tests remain stable (slight variations, but nothing significant). God has been listening to all our prayers and is keeping me in His care. He is giving me the strength to manage the chemotherapy side effects and remain strong to help purge, pack and prepare my home for sale. With our plans to sell my Andover home this summer and move into a condo, I thank Him everyday for the strength and patience to move into this next phase of our lives.
Saturday, April 27th was my third PanCAN PurpleStride walk at Carson Beach in Boston. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had a record turnout of over 40 friends and family in attendance. My team (The InVINCEible Warriors) raised over $9700, which was the highest amount raised by my team over the past three years. Like the prior two years, we had friends and family stop by my home in Andover after the walk for food and drinks. I'm so grateful for all who donated and/or attended the event. The day always brings such joy and it's wonderful to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive community.
I cannot end my update without saying how much I love being a grandfather. My granddaughter Gianna brightens my day every time I see her in person, FaceTime or receive a new picture of her from my son or daughter-in-law. She is a reminder of progress and that while this beautiful life continues, I am truly blessed to be strong enough to continue to enjoy it while surviving cancer.
With much gratitude and love.
