Hi Everyone,
I hope you are doing well this spring. A brief update on my treatment and a note about the PanCAN PurpleStride event on April 27-
Last month at my chemotherapy treatment, my test results revealed an elevated level of tumor markers. Although Octavia and I were a bit concerned, my doctor was not and said as long as I'm feeling well and my CT scan results show a stable tumor condition, I should not be worried. He was right. Last week's test results showed a decreased level of tumor markers, reassuring Octavia and I that these test results fluctuate and I should focus on my overall condition.
The success I've had with my treatment (and the recently increased 5-year survival rate of 13%) is possible because of events like PanCAN Purplestride. The annual PanCAN PurpleStride event at Carson's Beach in Boston on April 27 is hosted by the Pancreatic Cancer Network. The walk helps to help raise awareness and support in finding a cure, better treatment, and earlier detection for pancreatic cancer among many other things. Last year we had over 30 team members walk PurpleStride and raised over $8000! I'm so grateful for all who contributed to this cause.
Please consider joining me in this effort to raise money for a very important cause. If you plan to join us for the walk, you can register as a team member through the "Join My Team" button on the link below. If you are not able to join us but would like to donate, simply choose "Make a Donation". Visit my personal page
http://support.pancan.org/goto/Vince_Benenati for details. We are also welcoming all friends and family back to our house in Andover after the walk for food and drinks- if you're able to join us, we'd love to see you.
Your unrelenting support and following along with my journey means the world to me.
Thank you so much!
Vince
