Victoria’s Story

Site created on June 27, 2018

As many of you may know, both Tom and Vicky retired a little over a month ago. They were looking forward to road trips, cruises, and just spending time together. Unfortunately,  for the last couple of weeks she had been having bad sciatica pain.  Tuesday of last week she began having migraines. Thursday night her and Tom went to the emergency room for the migraines. They gave her a shot for the pain and sent her home. A few days later, the migraines were back and she was unable to walk because of the sciatica pain. Vicky knew something was wrong, so they called 911 and was taken to the hospital.  Here is what we have found out so far.. She has 3 brain bleeds: sub dural, sub arachnoid, and contusions. She has been in the Neuro ICU since Sunday. She has no movement on the right side of the body and her speech is gargled/slurred. We are trusting and believeing that this will not be her new normal. We will post updates on this website. We thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts.

Mom is doing great!! We are so proud of her! She works so hard each and every day. 3-4 hours of speech, OT, and PT every day. They are thinking she will be able to go home on the 21st and then continue with outpatient therapy. Yesterday they attached her to the ceiling harness which assists with walking. There is a video on Facebook of her doing it, so cool!! Please continue to pray for a complete healing❤️
