Journal Entry 5/17/2022

It’s been way too long since my last journal entry on March 23!  It’s been just over 4 months since Tristan had his stroke and what a journey it has been!  We went back to Iowa City for a follow-up visit with his neurologist as well as addition MRI and MRA scans.  A bit discouraging to hear the neurologist felt Tristan should be further along in his recovery but through that minor set back we continue to see God at work in so many ways.  We continue to place our trust and hope in our Lord and Savior for Tristan’s healing.  What a teaching opportunity to totally rely on God Providence throughout this trial.

As we continue with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy, we’ve augmented his treatments with acupuncture as well as alternative medicines.  Our neurologist referred us to the Plasticity Clinic in Denver, and we are currently in our 2^nd day of a 5 day treatment.  Very intense and a wide variety of different treatments including a hyperbaric chamber to maximize blood flow in the brain.

So many people have come along side of us with prayers and encouragement!  As always, I’m so humbled by the outpouring of support.   We are looking ahead to many options including coming back for an additional 1 – 2 weeks as well as beginning a conversation whether stem-cell therapy might be a viable option.
