Journal entry by Mindy Drenckhahn

Yesterday was appointment day. Turns out I must be feeding him pretty good, he's gained 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

His platelet count is pretty low (73,000) so they are cutting out the oxiplatin from today's chemo cocktail. He's super happy about that because that is the one that makes him feel yucky and gives him mouth sores.

Last round his neutrophils were low so they had him go in to be deaccessed and gave him a shot to help bring those up. He will continue to do that now until he finishes his chemo. I'm happy about that, he had very few bad days last round and I'm crediting the shot for that.

We got to see a different view of the blood clot in his leg, it is much larger than we thought. Thank goodness we caught that when we did.

Round 6 of chemo today. He's actually handling it much better than expected. This is the most aggressive chemo cocktail they use, most people aren't as fortunate managing side effects as he has been.

God is good!
