Journal entry by Martin Medina —
Hello Family and Friends, Tina is doing as well as she has been and her health is still just as stable. However, there is a big change, no, it's not a heart yet.
Two days ago we learned from the doctors that the two transplant surgeons at Strong are leaving. Then we heard the inside scoop. Without sharing non-first-hand-information, I'll just say that the nurses and the doctors that monitor Tina's care were all 110% on board with her wanting to transfer to Boston.
In less than 24 hours, Tina (her superpower is self-advocacy) managed to make the right calls to doctors she had in Boston and secure herself a bed at Massachusetts General Hospital where she will be waiting for her transplant.
I'm keeping this brief because I'm hitting the road to meet her there. I need to drive, but here's a pic of her mode of transportation.
Thank you all for your continued support!
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Tina's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
