As you may know, Danielle was in remission from cancer after her clinical trial treatment in 2020. A recurrence was discovered in July 2021. Danielle has been experiencing some symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, pain, and fatigue. Upon discovering the cancer growth, she was prescribed an oral chemo, which she began taking in August. She also began to integrate lifestyle changes with the guidance of a dietitian. The oral chemo began to turn her hair white and produced some other side effects as well. She completed 2 rounds of the oral chemo, but had shown increased cancer growth on 2 sets of scans back-to-back. After the most recent scan in December, Danielle was urged to seek immediate care. She did and received surgery the following day to drain approximately 2 liters of fluid from her lungs. Her current treatment plan includes going back to Northwestern to have another port surgery so that she may begin an I.V. chemo next week. She is in the process of transitioning into the care of a new oncologist.

Danielle reached out to me, her younger sister Kim, to write and share this post so that our loved ones may stay up-to-date and so that we may request prayers and encouragement. Please pray that Danielle has a smooth surgery, a peaceful healing process, and safe travels. We also ask that you pray for Bob, her husband, who has supported her with his presence through these challenging times, and for their other family members and friends, that we all may be well and supportive. Thank you in advance to all of our prayer warriors out there.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has been there with our family, near and far. We are so blessed and so thankful to have such a strong and expansive support system

May you all be loved, peaceful, joyful, and well.

-Kim Glenn
