Tammy was born on the same day as my father, George William Hines (RIP 12/13/90). They are both in the hearts of our family, today.
After much deliberation, I decided to follow through on the trip that Tammy and I had planned to Runaway Bay, Jamaica for our 25th anniversary. I often told her that I would get her there, no matter what: assuming that would mean the use of a wheelchair. It would ultimately be within the confines of a cremains scatter box.
String Cheese Incident performed three nights of music during a week-long festival at a beautiful resort. It was perfect; and, only missed my love (or so I thought). Members of the SCI band/community joined me for a wonderful ceremony to spread her ashes into the Caribbean Sea. They further took me into their fold and even dedicated a song to us.
I cannot effectively describe the spiritual sojourn that found me in Jamaica; other, than to assure you all that she WAS THERE. It was absolutely undeniable. I would be happy to provide my testimonial to any curious readers out there.
I always possessed some level of hope/faith/belief that there is an after to this existence. I now know that there is. I am hopeful that others experiencing loss can take comfort in my words.
I leave you all with an utterance heard on the island that I found to be absolutely true:
"Angels will help if asked."
Signing off.
Bryan
