Unfortunately the news we got a few days ago about my scan was not good news. We knew my bloodwork was off and my tumor markers were increasing. Although after a year of surgery, treatments and a lot of wear and tear on my body there are other factors that may have swung the bloodwork. But in fact it was that the tumors are growing and there are more in my liver. My current chemo isn’t working so we move forward to what is next.
Next Wednesday I’ll go in for a biopsy on one tumor to see if they can customize my new chemo to any specific findings. We do have a few options left to try and we are willing to try them all with the hopes to find something that works. This is super disappointing news for all of us. The reality of this aggressive cancer is hard to take in when I look and for the most part feel “normal”.
I’ll meet with my oncologist on June 4th to figure it the new treatment plan. So we cross our fingers and continue to pray that this time things work.
