Welcome to Suzanne’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportIt’s early Sunday morning and I’m sitting in the stands while Hudson’s baseball team warms up for a tournament today. It feels fitting to be writing this post at a baseball game since we received the official news of me having breast cancer as we pulled into a little league game in April of 2021. Yet, today marks a finish line and a different sort of start line than three years ago!
Last night I took my final oral chemo pill!
We are officially done with “active treatment”!!!
Many of you have asked if “done is done?” One of the many things that we have learned in this journey is that “done” is relative when it comes to cancer. Side effects from chemo and surgeries remain. I’ll have another minor surgery later this year. I’ll continue to meet with doctors….
But no more chemo!!! So for now, we celebrate! We’ve reached a major milestone and we are THRILLED!!
Thank you for being in this journey with us. We are so very grateful for the amazing community that has surrounded us all along the way!
Let’s play ball!!!
