Suzanne’s Story

Site created on July 7, 2021

Hey Friends-

Thanks for stopping by to check in on us and to be with us in this journey.  If there is one thing that we've been reminded of every single day since the word 'cancer' entered Suzanne's medical record is that there is unmatchable power in community.  We've felt carried and supported in ways that we could have never imagined by the people, near and far, in our lives.  We're beyond thankful for our family, friends and neighbors who have jumped into the fight with us!  THANK YOU!

In early April, Suzanne was diagnosed with breast cancer.  The spring took a quick turn and was filled with appointments, procedures and learning from the army of women that have the beautiful title of "survivor".  Surgery was scheduled for June 9th and after being put under, Suzanne had a severe allergic reaction to one of the medications.  They were unable to continue with surgery as the risk was too high.  We spent the night in the hospital and were sent home with a new surgery date of June 15.  Surgery went incredibly well- the doctors believe that they were able to remove all of the cancer!  Unfortunately, they did discover that the cancer was more aggressive than they thought so Suzanne's treatment plan has been greatly adjusted.

On July 29th, Suzanne will begin twenty weeks of chemo, followed by a recovery break and then six weeks of radiation.  The hopes are to ensure that there is no cancer left in her body and that she moves into the survivor category!

We'll do our best to keep updates on here for you all.  We're beyond grateful to have family and friends praying for us, cheering us on, sending good vibes,  fist pumping at the celebrations and loving us.

We can't imagine this journey without y'all....
Much love-
Suzanne, Christopher & Hudson

Journal entry by Suzanne Williams

Hey friends,
Thank you for your love and support during surgery and recovery!  The surgery went very well and the doctor was pleased all around.  I had my post-op appointment today, which held all great thoughts, as well as my monthly appointment with my oncologist.  Despite having had surgery, my blood counts are in a good space.  We are so grateful for all of this news!

From here, we’ll continue on with oral chemo on a daily basis and essentially counting the days until we’re done with it!

Blessings to you this holiday season.
Much love!
