Susan’s Story

Site created on August 27, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

It's difficult to summarize all that our mom and our family have been facing for the past several months. It all started with an emergency surgery in February, which resulted in removing a portion of the colon. Recovery from the surgery and adjusting to some major post-surgery changes was going surprisingly well, when we received news in early May that the biopsy and some additional tests didn't look good. As it turned out by mid May, our mom was looking at a tough fight against stage 4, metastatic cancer.

It has been a long, tough fight indeed, and fight she has! There seem to have been a countless number of setbacks along they way, and she is still fighting.

We have appreciated the outpouring of love and support from family and friends more than we could ever express. We have created this page to help in communicating with all of you more frequently, so I will try to update as often as possible. Thank you.
