Susan was one of my Ski Patrol outdoor emergency care (OEC) instructors during years I was lead instructor for our annual OEC Refresh. This year, members of the Hidden Valley snow sports community banded together to form a charity bike team to ride in the Pedal the Cause event. Our inaugural ride is tomorrow, 9/24/23, and this first ride is dedicated to the memory of Susan and our colleague Kurt Luebbens. Both passed away from cancer. This year's ride also honors the almost one dozen members of the Hidden Valley community who are either in remission or who continue to fight cancer.
