Journal entry by Mike Millione

April Fools has always been a day that Mom has typically tried to avoid me.  I can remember one time when her and dad were coming home from a trip and I was heading back to Frostburg after being home for the weekend.  Not wanting them to miss out on April Fools day, I duck taped all the light switches to the off position so they couldn't turn on any lights when they got home.  I also remember that she was always sliding off the toilet seat thanks to some Vaseline applied so she couldn't see it.  Somehow, it was always Mom that fell victim.

Well today she couldn't avoid me as we had to go see the Oncologist and thankfully the report is VERY GOOD!!!!  They saw no evidence of the cancer spreading and her kidney and liver function numbers are all within normal range.  She has even gained 9 pounds since February!!!  Her tumor marker numbers are above normal levels, but that is expected because she does still have cancer.

We continue chemo tomorrow and will continue the every other week rotation for a while with the new dosage.  So far, we are happy to report not ill effects of this protocol besides being a little more tired than she would like.  However, being tired has not stopped her from spending time with everyone.  Yesterday for Easter we went to Church, an early dinner and then went to Jen's house for dessert and to play some games.  It was an all around great family day where we could celebrate the Hope we have in Jesus and be grateful for the time he continues to allow us to have with Mom.

Thanks for all the continued thoughts and prayers, they are strength when Mom is weak!!
