I realize we haven’t posted in a while. The last month we’ve been busy with appointments and getting the garden started. I celebrated my 40th birthday with family and friends. We are still just taking it day by day. Sterling got a stand for his hammock, so we anticipate some naps outside in the shade.
The weather is nicer here (it was 80 today!) Sterling has being getting out to do daily walks in the yard. He walks slowly, but lasts a while if he paces himself. Yesterday we went to
Red Clover Herbal Farm in WI with a couple of friends. Sterling did great riding in the car and walking around the farm. He was a bit shaky, but still able to get around. We stopped at a couple of garden centers on the way home to look at the flowers.
Sterling still does his Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments and reflexology. He’s trying to alternate the two so he just has one appointment a week. It seems to help, but he gets pretty worn out the days following. He is still gets shaky and still stutters when his mind is overwhelmed. Overall he has made progress, but it’s difficult to perceive week by week.
We are still waiting to hear back from disability, no new updates.
Sterling’s mom Darlene is visiting in a week. We usually do a bunch of garden work and can’t wait to spend some quality time together. We know that there has been interest in garden help, so if you are free anytime the 22-27th and want to help let us know. I have seedlings, plants, eggs we can share if you help. Our neighbors let us try seed starting in their AeroGarden last month and we got a good yield of plant starts.
There is also a city wide garage sale June 7-9th and we are hoping to sell some stuff and perhaps do a bake sale/fundraising of some sort. Let me know if you’d be interested in helping or donating anything. If there’s enough interest maybe I’ll make some old fashioned donuts 😉.
Thanks for your continued thoughts, prayers, visits, and meals. They have meant the world to us and we are so thankful for all the wonderful people we know.
