I have great news to share from my 100 day appointment that was a couple of weeks ago. NO Myeloma was detected in my bone marrow so that is considered a better than average response to the Stem Cell Transplant!! 🙌 we were soo thankful to hear that the transplant did what it was supposed to do!
Thank you Jesus! God is good!
I feel great, my hair is coming in good, I am able to be out and about and I am back to working in the office since last week!
But, why does there have to be a but.
Even though no myeloma was detected in the bone marrow, the transplant was not a cure, the myeloma still lurks about. Maintenance chemotherapy is needed to help keep it suppressed for as long as possible, until another line of treatment is needed.
I will be taking a daily chemo pill as well as receiving a subcutaneous injection (which I was also getting pre-transplant). This will be weekly for 8 weeks, bi-weekly for 8 weeks then once a month for up to 3 years.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the thoughts, prayers and well wishes over these last months. Prayers answered.
And, I will take continued ones if I come to mind 😊🙏
With gratitude and thankfulness,
Stacy
