Dearest Mollie and Liza , It was so moving to be able to read his obituary that you linked to CaringBridge. He was undoubtedly a very special individual. As I told many friends John was one of the very few Americans I met who was a true socialist.

Dearest Liza and Mollie, I am so saddened to learn of the passing of your dad. Three days ago, siblings Laurie, John and I were staying in NYC at the Hotel Giraffe and I shared with them a photo of our Fossil Rim adventure trip 23 years ago and a giraffe leaning into the open safari wagon. Sending much love to you both.

Hoping our friend John is receiving all the love that's being sent to him. Our best to John, Mollie and Liza. We love you all!

Dear John,
it was lovely seeing you (albeit too briefly) in Vancouver this summer. I was so impressed with your bravery despite your deteriorating respiratory function and despite no longer having your amazing Sherrie to share everything with!

John-Sherrie was indeed a most generous human being, always concerned and curious about others. She was also a beautiful mother to Mollie and Liza. Her strength through the last few years was remarkable. We'll miss her.

We're so very sad that Sherrie has died too soon, but so glad Mollie and Liza were with John when the end came. Even though we were prepared for this news we are both in tears for the loss of a good friend and a great lady.
