Sorry it has been so long since my last post but please keep in mind we are going with, “No News is Good News”!!  First for the medical update, in a nutshell “Sheila continues to do Great”!!  The labs show that her liver is doing fantastic, doing everything a liver should be doing including building an environment for all the other organs to be Happy in!  Her lab work has been cut back to once a week and by mid December we should move to every other week.  We continue on the dance of slight adjustments almost every week to the medications but the trend has been to reduce or eliminate earlier than scheduled, which is great news!!

We are past the time-frame of any questions as to whether the liver will function well or be rejected.  Sheila has also essentially recovered from the trauma of a very major surgery.  She now is focused on gaining back mobility, strength and weight.  Yes, she would love to gain a few pounds, she hit a low of 113 pounds but now with a good appetite and physical therapy program she has made her way up to 115 pounds.  We did get the “Green Light” to travel after Christmas, so our intention is to head west and spend the rest of the winter & spring between Telluride & Scottsdale.  The weather in Arizona should allow us to get outside and continue our physical therapy.

So, I am going to call this our “Last Post” on the topic of Sheila’s liver transplant and hope that we can communicate the old fashioned way (face to face) in a COVID Free world in the very near future.  But, before we close this chapter we want to say one more time just how Grateful we are for your support, thoughts, well wishes and prayers (especially PSP prayers).  We firmly believe that you all made a difference in Sheila’s outcome by going to our Lord & Savior in powerful prayer!  You also made a Big Difference in our resolve and confidence knowing you were in our camp and encouraging us!!  I know it is kind of weird, but we could absolutely feel it!!

Now for just a moment back to this posts title, Blessed & Grateful.  Reflection is something that Sheila and I believe is important to do from time to time, especially during the Holidays.  As we reflect back on 2020, there were moments when the future looked pretty Dire, candidly downright scary!!  However, somehow we knew it was going to be OK and actually not just OK but GOOD!  We knew God had a Plan and our role was to Go with it!  We still don’t know exactly what that total plan is but, we do believe that God gave us more time together on this earth to do something important and special!  With that in mind we have re-shaped our priorities for our Next Chapter to be;  Gratitude, Authenticity and Service.  It is not entirely clear to us what exactly that means or what it looks like but trust that we will gain clarity as we walk ahead in faith.

So, let me close with a Final Big Thank You for being in our Camp, your presence and prayers will forever be remembered!  Challenges make us stronger, help us know who we are and who our friends really are.  This health journey has been a Challenge beyond no other and has made us Stronger in who we are and who our friends are.  Most of all it has brought us closer to the Lord and guess what, I bet that was His Plan all along!!  How about that!!

Love you all!!  Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!!
Here are a few Photos from the Timm house, guess the Christmas elves came early this year!!
