I had my 6 month CT Scan on Monday and my Oncologist appointment on Friday.  I was expecting a quick, normal 20 minutes at the doctor, but walked out 5 hours later!  The good news is I walked out with nothing but good, positive news.

My CT Scan was clear - they did not see anything at all worrisome.   But, I had a new lump in my right breast, so the oncologist called and scheduled me for an ultrasound immediately.  There it was, another hot dog in my right chest area this time.  They took a  lot of photos and measurements and the doctor examining the results said he also wanted a mammogram to verify what he was seeing.  I have no breast tissue, so I haven't had a mammogram for four years.  However, since I have very little feeling there, it was not so bad and they could get everything positioned exactly as needed to see what they wanted to see.

Turns out, this is just another calcified fat necrosis and nothing harmful.   I truly am Ms. Gotrocks, I have photographic evidence.  Their concern is that these normally appear just following surgery and not years later, but my body is different, apparently.  It does feel good that they did all this scanning and couldn't find anything that I need to worry about.

I thought this would be my last oncologist visit.  Not so fast...she says that since I had such an aggressive form of cancer, and it moved so rapidly, and my body is on some other time table, that she wants to continue to scan me.  So, I have my next check up in three months, another CT scan and meeting with her in 6 months,  then I will have check ups every 6 months and CT scans every year for the foreseeable future.  That's OK with me as well.  I'll have a yearly scan to make sure everything is still clear and that way I have no worries!
