Journal entry by Shannon Hamlett —
Over a year ago they said this would be a year long treatment plan. They weren’t lying. We are now a year and two months pass and I have one more treatment to do from this plan. As time passes, it gets easier to see the other side of it all. There’s still quite a few things I have to do or fix or check and the little fear that lingers in the back of your head…..but as summer nears and doctor appts are further apart, I can be less stressed about it all. I think. The last two infusions have gone well. I have some low blood counts so she took extra blood yesterday to make sure we aren’t missing anything but not low enough I can’t receive the treatment. I have started the appts with the pulmonologist to see why I still cough. Took a breathing test the other day and still waiting to hear what that told him. He did a tele med appt with me and it was on a Sunday. Strange hours this man keeps. Waiting for summer to meet with the naturopath oncologist as school has ramped up with nearing the last few weeks and it’s hard to fit in appts that aren’t absolutely necessary. Still have quite a bit of bone pain but that won’t go away so have to figure out a way to not have it make me grumpy. Wish me luck there! We are busy with high school soccer and anxiously awaiting Marleys return home in a month or so. Our snow is melting and I’m ready for a good summer! XOXO
