2020 what a year! It has brought so many trials and tribulations but it also brought us a miracle of new life. At the beginning of this year Sawyer needed a bone marrow transplant and we were told that there weren’t any 100% matches in the donor bank. We knew Brian was a 50% match but it would be a lot more risky. After lots of discussion we talked the doctor into testing Sawyer’s cousins. (They don’t normally do this to find a donor because most of the time they don’t match.) God had a plan and much to our surprise Remy was a match. We later found out that he wasn’t a 50% match but almost an 80% match! The doctor said he had never seen this before and was amazed. So in April Remy willingly went into surgery to harvest his bone marrow. June 4th Sawyer received those cells and his new life began. Those cells are still at 💯 and Sawyer is thriving. It has been 9 months since they have seen each other and Sawyer could barely walk at that time. This week these two got to run,wrestle, and play. There were lots of laughs and it was so good to spend time with them. So here is to a cancer free 2021! 🎉
