Journal entry by Lynette Vlasak —
My apologies for the gap in updating everyone on Sally's cancer battle. For some reason, I was unable to access CaringBridge's update page. With a phone call from CaringBridge, I am again able to post updates. Things have been going pretty well since last I wrote anything. Sally did decide to take the oral chemo drugs--7 days on and 7 days off. She finished the first course, and will begin the second series tomorrow. To this point, she has not experienced any side effects. She has developed a rash all over her body that has no explanation. It is not raised and is not itchy. Sally does walk with a walker or holds on to someone's arm if she is moving about, but she is getting a little stronger everyday. Hospital stays really take a toll on her strength. A home health nurse and a PT person will both come to the house tomorrow to check how things are going. We continue to check her temperature several times a day and so far, it has been within an acceptable range. Sally did feel good enough to go to our library's book club meeting yesterday and lunch with friends the day before. She does enjoy getting to be out and see friends.
