Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Our dear friend Ryan who we’ve worked with for many years at Aveda was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer in January of 2022. He started an aggressive chemo and radiation treatment in March and shortly after he lost his job. He has had many doctors’ visits, blood transfusions and at one point in for daily shots to build his strength. His results came back in August from chemo and radiation that sadly the treatments were not effective. He went in for major surgery on Sept. 13th to remove a tumor. They got the devastating news that they were unable to remove the cancerous tumor, they found it to be wrapped around his bowels and has spread into his pelvis. Ryan remains in the hospital at Mercy Medical Center in Coon Rapids, MN with no word of a discharge date. He has been in a lot of pain and has had a blood transfusion and CAT scan since this past week. His parents are looking into the possibility of scheduling an appointment at Mayo Clinic. Ryan’s parents Harold and Julie have been taking care of Ryan every step of the way on this journey emotionally, physically and financially.
Ryan has always been one of the hardest working people we know. It is truly devastating to him that he is unable to work and just wants things to get back to a somewhat “normal” life. He declined the offer of us doing a Go Fund Me or Caring Bridge site several times, but now understands that it is time to accept the help for he and his parents. These funds will go towards medical and personal bills as he has had no financial assistance since losing his job. Also most importantly, the support that will be needed to offer the best care and options for Ryan. We want only the best for our dear friend as he goes into this next stage of his fight.
We have set up a gofundme page for donations to help Ryan during this critical time. please visit the tab "Ways to help" and click on his Gofundme page. Or Click here
