Attached is The Lone Survivor  which was published in the Sun Newspapers on December 25, 2003. This newspaper article was written by Ken Woods after extensive interviews. It describes Roland’s miraculous survival of the September 2, 2000 plane accident and includes his glimpses into heaven. 

Roland realized that his life had been spared for God’s purposes. Soon after his release from the hospital in October 2000, Roland re-committed his life to serving the Lord.  

The meaningful words on those 3 printed pages so wonderfully capture this testimony of God’s faithfulness. Throughout his extra years of life on earth, Roland appreciated opportunities to share this story and usually had copies readily available for distribution. As Roland’s abilities declined, Karen continued to share copies whenever God-orchestrated opportunities arose, even during Roland’s final week at Brookdale.
