Journal

Dear Family and Friends,
It’s May and it’s our busy month for birthdays m, celebrations and graduations. Writing is becoming increasing difficult to do but when I’m don, it’s so therapeutic. It’s also the time of  reflection as we are two years into this process of treatment on May 20th, Rock’s bday. I’m finding that it’s becoming extremely difficult to talk about our son and we are doing as a family. Everyone has been great, giving space and respecting our journey. We give everyone the standard answer of, “day by day” and “ups and downs with more better days than not”. While true, it all sucks and weighs heavy. The analogy that pops in my head if you have ever driven on ice is: Driving downhill at night during a snow storm with 2 wheel drive, your windshield wipers are broken and you need to drive another 20 miles on an 1/8th tank of gas. I can add more but you get the picture. It’s doable and Rocky is doing it. The anxiety of it all as we are coming close to the end of treatment (September!) has me and Chele on high alert constantly.
Currently, we are in clinic and his numbers are not bad but he feels like crap. No explanation and not immediate causes. What do you do? Focus on the positive and remain positive. It’s better than his numbers dropping and being admitted. Perspective right? Regardless, we are so proud of Rocky. His attitude and stoicism through this process shows more bravery than I have. All of your prayers and well wishing makes a difference.  Please continue to pray for God to put his healing hands over our son’s body and mind.
Thank you for supporting #RockyStrong and #TeamRocky

God bless,
Chele and JoJo
